Do you want to stay connected with the group but don't want to constantly receive notifications from a specific person? On iOS 8, you can easily turn off notifications for a designated person or a group.
- In a group or individual chat, select the Details option (top right) > then choose Do Not Disturb and switch it to On.
- With this method, notifications in the chat will be muted. Moreover, other people in the conversation won't be aware that you have activated this feature.
- When the chat is muted, conversation threads will have a crescent moon icon on the left to indicate that it is in silent mode.
By following the above steps, you have successfully turned off the notifications in your regular conversations, especially during classes or work. When you want to receive notifications again, simply re-enable them as usual.
