Step 1: Open Word on your computer and place the cursor on the row you want to split (position it on the first column).

For example, in this case, we'll split from the 5th row of the table, so place the cursor on the first cell of the 5th row.
Step 2: Then, go to the Layout tab and select Merge => Split Table to split the table directly in Word while preserving the content.

Step 3: Immediately, the table will be split with a blank row below. You've now successfully split the table while keeping all content in Word.

2. How to Merge Two Tables into One in Word
If there's a way to split tables, there surely is a way to merge them for efficient work in Word. Merging tables in Word is incredibly simple; you don't need many steps to do it.
Step 1: Select the tables you want to merge in Word and click on the Move (four-way arrow) icon.

Step 2: Then, press and hold the move icon and drag them to the position where you want to merge the tables, and the system will automatically recognize it.
Note: Drag the table close to the desired position to avoid gaps between the two tables.
