It ranks among the top 20 largest web hosting services, alongside FastDomain and HostMonster. This guide will assist you in cancelling your Bluehost hosting services.
Procedure
Through Phone or Live Chat

Familiarize yourself with the details of cancelling your account by reviewing the Bluehost Terms of Service. Pay close attention to Section 2 and Section 3, which outline refund policies, nonrefundable fees, and account cancellations.

Ensure you back up all your data, including emails, databases, and files, as they will be deleted from Bluehost servers upon cancellation of your hosting services.

Contact the Bluehost Billing Department at (888) 401-4678 or initiate a live chat with a Bluehost representative.

Inform the Bluehost representative of your intention to cancel your account.

Provide the representative with your first and last name, the associated domain name, and the last 4 digits of your cPanel login password.
- If you paid via credit card, you'll need to provide the last 4 digits of the card number. You may also need to confirm the card's validity for potential refunds.
- If you paid via PayPal, provide the 7-digit PayPal Invoice Number from your most recent payment. You may also need to confirm the validity of your PayPal account for potential refunds.

Request the cancellation of your automatic domain name renewal. By default, your domain name renewal is set to “Auto-Renew”. You can retain this setting if you wish to keep your domain(s) active and continue using the Bluehost Domain Manager.
via Submitting a Support Ticket

Refer to the Bluehost Terms of Service to acquaint yourself with the details of cancelling your account. Review Section 2 and Section 3 of the terms to understand refund policies, nonrefundable fees, and account cancellations.

Ensure you back up all your data, including emails, databases, and files you wish to retain. Upon cancellation of your hosting services, all this data will be removed from Bluehost servers.

Choose the “Cancellations” option and then click the “OK” button.

Provide your email address. Bluehost will use this to send replies to your support ticket.

Provide your full name, domain name, and the password linked to your account.

Compose a message informing Bluehost of your desire to cancel your account. Optionally, you can attach any relevant files by clicking the “Choose File” button and selecting a file from your computer.

Input the verification code displayed in the image below the “Text:” field and click “Send Message” to finalize the process and submit the ticket to Bluehost.

Take note of the reference number assigned to your support ticket. Allow 24-48 hours for Bluehost to address your ticket. Upon receiving a response from a Bluehost representative, they may request additional information, such as the last 4 digits of your credit card, the 7-digit PayPal Invoice Number, or the last 4 digits of your cPanel login password.

Request to halt the renewal process for your domain name to prevent automatic renewal of domain names registered with the service. By default, the domain name renewal setting is configured to “Auto-Renew” and won’t cancel automatically when you cancel your account. Alternatively, you can retain the domain names registered with Bluehost and continue using the Domain Manager.
