Facebook often suggests people you might want to connect with. This feature aims to help you expand your relationships or find friends you might have missed. However, it can also be annoying when it suggests strangers. Follow these steps to disable friend suggestions on Facebook!
Method 1: Reset Notifications
To disable friend suggestions, try adjusting your notification settings. Facebook offers options to turn off notifications for various items you may not be interested in.
Using Facebook on Desktop
1. Access Facebook in your browser. Click on the arrow icon in the top right corner >> Settings & Privacy.
2. Proceed to open Settings.
3. Switch to the Notifications tab on the left column.

Using Facebook on Mobile Devices
1. Open the Facebook app on your phone, tap the Menu icon with three horizontal lines, and access Settings.

Method 2: Stop Automatic Contact Upload
Facebook also uses your phone's contacts to suggest new friends. Therefore, you need to disable the automatic contact upload feature:
1. Access Settings through the Facebook app by tapping on the Menu icon.
2. Navigate to Upload Contacts and ensure that this feature is turned off.
Method 3: Prevent Facebook from accessing location data
Similar to uploading your contacts, if you've installed the Facebook app, you may have granted it permission to use your location. And the truth is, Facebook also uses location data to suggest nearby friends.
1. Go to Settings, navigate to Location.
2. Tap on Location Services.
3. Choose not to allow Facebook access to your location.
