Since the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Windows 10 users have gained a new feature called Windows Ink Workspace. This is a perfect tool for designers or regular Windows 10 Anniversary Update users to optimize their experience, enabling more efficient drawing and designing.
However, to use Windows Ink Workspace, users need to know how to turn on Ink Workspace in Windows 10 as this feature may be hidden during the Windows 10 update process.
How to Enable Ink Workspace on Windows 10
Step 1: To activate Ink Workspace, simply click on the pen-shaped Ink Workspace icon located at the bottom corner of the screen.
If you don't see this icon on the Taskbar, you may have hidden this feature. To enable and activate Ink Workspace on Windows 10, right-click on the Taskbar and select Show Windows Ink Workspace button.
Alternatively, if you're using Windows 10 on certain hybrid devices like the Surface Pro, you can use the shortcut button on the accompanying pen to quickly trigger the appearance of Windows Ink Workspace.
Step 2: Just like its name suggests, Ink Workspace is a dedicated creative design area within Windows 10, equipped with tools such as Sticky Note, Sketchpad, and Screen sketch.
Additionally, you'll find sections like Recently used showcasing recently used Windows apps, making it easier for users to design and take notes.

Step 1: Among the three applications within Windows Ink Workspace - Sticky Note, Sketchpad, and Screen Sketch - each app serves a specific function.
- Sticky Note app: Used for creating notes on the computer and providing convenient information, especially notes that can be easily referenced through linked URLs. However, users need to enable the Insights mode.
- Sketchpad app: It's a digital drawing board with a complete set of drawing tools, brushes, colors, etc., allowing users to sketch out their personal ideas.
- Screen sketch app: It's an application that allows you to capture screen images and annotate them with notes or drawings. Afterward, you can easily save the image to your computer by pressing Save as.
To configure and set up a pen connected with the Windows Ink Workspace app, you need a computer that supports touch screens. At this point, in Settings in Windows 10, you'll find an additional option for Pen & Windows Ink under Devices.
