Graphics card manufacturers constantly release new updates to fix system errors and increase compatibility with games. Especially when major games are released, updates happen frequently. During the installation of VGA drivers, upgrades often lead to errors, or there's a risk of errors occurring during usage due to conflicts between new and old driver components. For instance, when updating Nvidia cards, you might encounter normal installation but experience frame rate (FPS) issues or some graphic display-related errors while gaming.
To ensure safe graphics card driver removal, minimizing errors when reinstalling or upgrading, Mytour recently researched and discovered a software called Display Driver Uninstaller to help you thoroughly remove graphics card drivers from the system. It leaves no trace, not even in the Registry, which other uninstallation programs fail to do. However, Display Driver Uninstaller only works with graphics card drivers. Now let's see how to use Display Driver Uninstaller to remove graphics card drivers.
How to uninstall and install new VGA graphics card drivers
Step 1: First, download the graphics card driver uninstaller software Display Driver Uninstaller from here.
Step 2: Once you've downloaded the Display Driver Uninstaller software, proceed to extract it using Winrar.
Step 3: Double-click on the software to extract Display Driver Uninstaller once again.
Step 4: Continue clicking on Extract to extract the software to your computer.
Step 5: When you open Display Driver Uninstaller, there are 3 modes to choose from. If you select Safe Mode ( to avoid system-related errors), your computer will restart. Otherwise, use Normal to uninstall graphics card drivers.
Step 6: The software interface appears, clearly divided into 2 sections: the top section contains functions and the bottom section contains text logs.
Step 7: In the top section of the Display Driver Uninstaller software are the functions you can use to uninstall graphics card drivers.
- Clean and restart: This mode cleans VGA drivers then automatically restarts the system.
- Clean and do NOT restart: This mode cleans VGA drivers but does not restart, which may cause errors if not rebooted.
- Clean and shutdown: It cleans drivers then shuts down the computer, optimal for installing new drivers after removal.
- Remove 'GeForce Experience' Displau driver Installer Cache/ files: Removes GeForce Experience, Nvidia VGA's supporting software, without affecting the main VGA driver.
Step 8: Below is the text log section showing the operation process when you perform tasks in the above section. It also displays the types of VGA currently in use on the computer. In the testing machine, there are 2 types of VGA: Intel 5500 and Nvidia GTX950M.
Step 9: If you choose one of the 4 modes to run, especially mode 1, after restarting your computer, you will see that the VGA driver uninstallation is complete. At this point, you need to install a new graphics card driver.
Step 10: As in our article, we are using an Nvidia card, so you can download the latest version of this card here: Download Nvidia.
- For ATi AMD cards and if your computer doesn't have a dedicated VGA, download the Intel driver here.
Step 11: Then proceed to install the new graphics card driver as usual after downloading.
Following the above steps will help you uninstall the graphics card driver 100% cleanly, avoiding errors caused by driver conflicts or new installations. Although this may take more time, it ensures smooth operation of your computer and other components. Additionally, you should limit the use of automatic driver search software, as this can also be a cause of errors on your computer.
