In the recent release of Skype version 8.55, Microsoft officially introduced the Meet Now feature to users. With Meet Now, users can initiate an online video chat or meeting with individuals who do not possess a Skype account.
Instead, you simply need to click on a shared link by someone in the group to instantly join the meeting or group chat. This way, you can easily connect with multiple people by sending the link via email, social media messages, text messages, etc.
Guide on using Meet Now feature on Skype
Meet Now is a new feature introduced in Skype version 8.55, users of older versions will not see this feature. Therefore, you need to update to the latest Skype chat software through the following link.

Create a meeting and send invitations using Meet Now
After updating, open Skype, log in as usual, and follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Click on the Meet Now icon (Meeting) with a camera icon in the Chat tab on the left toolbar of the screen.
Step 2: In the welcome window, you can preview your video screen and send invitations to others. Click Share Invitation , you'll have 4 options:
- Copy invitation: Copy the link and share it wherever you want.
Step 3: After sending out the invitations, click the Start Call button.
The Meet Now screen will appear as a regular group video call.
Join a Meet Now Skype meeting
For regular Skype users, simply click on the invitation link to join the Meet Now meeting or chat. However, for users without a Skype account, you can either sign up for a Skype account or join as a Guest.
Step 1: Click on the link you were sent
Step 2: A Skype workspace window will appear in the browser. Choose Join as guest
Step 3: Enter your name, then click Join
The meeting screen will appear, and you can participate in the conversation, messaging like regular Skype users.
