Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority (VCAA) recently imposed a 12-month flight ban through air routes for two customers using fake documents for air travel.
In recent times, the Security Center at Noi Bai International Airport has identified numerous cases where passengers used fake ID cards and driver's licenses for airport procedures.
The issue of using counterfeit documents for air travel
According to representatives from the ANHK Center, there are occasions when airport security detects passengers using invalid personal documents for air travel, resulting in many cases of 'lose money, lose face.'

As per current regulations, when flying, Vietnamese passengers under 14 years old can use the passport of their biological or adoptive parents or legal guardians. No need for an identity confirmation paper, omitting the authorization content of parents or guardians for children.
Passengers with Vietnamese nationality aged 14 and above are allowed to use various documents, including national ID cards, police ID cards, journalist cards, Vietnamese-issued car and motorcycle licenses, and identification cards from Vietnamese airlines.
How are passengers using fake documents handled during flights?
On September 21, 2020, Mr. T.V.N. (born in 1993, residing in Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa) used someone else's personal documents, ticket, and card to board the VJ245 flight from Thanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City.
On October 20, 2020, Ms. T.T.Q.N. (born in 1996, residing in Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang) used counterfeit personal documents to enter the quarantine area and board the plane for security checks on the VJ631 flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City.

On November 7, 2020, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority (VCAA) announced a decision to impose a 12-month air transport ban on two individuals violating aviation security regulations.
The 12-month ban is effective from November 15, 2020, to November 14, 2021, with mandatory visual inspections for the next six months until May 14, 2022. VCAA instructs domestic and international airlines not to transport the mentioned passengers on domestic and international flights originating from Vietnam within the specified period.
Regional aviation customs offices have notified the Police and Customs at aviation border gates to coordinate with foreign airlines and ground service providers under their jurisdiction to implement, inspect, and monitor the deployment.
