Recently, miHoYo - the developer behind Genshin Impact, has officially introduced their virtual universe, HoYoverse.
In recent times, one of the rapidly growing brands in the gaming industry is miHoYo, the Chinese company responsible for the hit game Genshin Impact. Since its release in September 2020, it has captivated millions of players worldwide.

With just a few days left, Genshin Impact will undergo its 2.5 update, unveiling the new character Yae Miko and the Inazuma storyline. As the Genshin frenzy continues, miHoYo has seized this opportunity to formally announce their entirely new brand they are targeting for the future: HoYoverse.

According to a press release found on the company's website, miHoYo aims to 'create and provide immersive virtual world experiences for players worldwide through various entertainment services.'
Thus, HoYoverse will undertake various entertainment projects beyond games like Genshin Impact, including Honkai Impact 3, Honkai: Star Rail, and Tears of Themis. They have even planned to launch the virtual AI Lumi and the desktop app N0va.

Cai Haoyu, co-founder and CEO of HoYoverse, stated: 'Our mission when founding HoYoverse is to create a magnificent virtual world driven by content, integrating games, animation, and various forms of entertainment to offer players freedom and top-tier entertainment.' 'We will continue to focus on long-term operational strategies, conduct ongoing technical research, and innovate in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and industrialization to ensure sufficient content is generated to meet global players' expectations for experiencing the virtual world.'

The publisher of Genshin Impact also confirmed that after working exclusively in China for a long time, they will expand content production, technology research, and distribution missions through offices in Montreal, Los Angeles, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul.
Looking at the complete announcement, we can see that miHoYo aims to expand the universe for all their games. Hence, it wouldn't be surprising if we see anime, manga, light novels, music, etc., about Genshin Impact and other games related to HoYoverse in the near future.

Currently, HoYoverse has appeared in the avatars of social media accounts belonging to miHoYo's games. 'The launch of HoYoverse reflects our commitment to providing vibrant entertainment experiences to users worldwide through diverse, high-quality content.' – emphasized the company.

Additionally, miHoYo's announcement also mentions COGNOSPHERE, the official name of their overseas company based in Singapore. This implies that miHoYo expects to expand its market and operations beyond China, bringing the virtual universe HoYoverse internationally. Given China's strict policies on gaming and entertainment services, this move may help Genshin Impact expand and face less censorship in the future.
