Deadpool will utilize time-travel to bring Wolverine to the big screen in the MCU
At the end of September, Hugh Jackman surprised fans by confirming his return as Wolverine in the blockbuster Deadpool 3, part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Prior to this, the actor bid farewell to the role after the release of Logan in 2017. Moreover, in numerous interviews, Jackman reiterated that his connection with the X-Men's Wolf Man had concluded.
Of course, the biggest question on fans' minds now is how Wolverine can be resurrected after his heroic sacrifice in the conclusion of Logan? Will he become the official Wolverine of the MCU, or merely pave the way for another version of the character in this cinematic universe?

Recently, Hugh Jackman shared insights on this issue in an online conversation with Sirius XM. The actor appeared cautious to avoid revealing any crucial information related to the upcoming blockbuster's script. However, he didn't hesitate to disclose that Deadpool 3 may exploit time-travel elements to bring Wolverine back to the big screen. For Jackman, the most important thing is that this resurrection must not affect the conclusion of Logan.
Specifically, the actor shared: 'Thanks to a special device that allows traversing across the timelines of the Marvel world, now we can go back in time. Science for the win! This way, I won't mess up Logan's timeline. That's crucial for me, and I think for the fans too'

Hugh Jackman has portrayed the role of Wolverine on the silver screen for nearly 2 decades, appearing in numerous X-Men blockbusters. Notably, this mutant has also time-traveled in the hit Days Of Future Past, when his consciousness was sent back to his past self's body. Therefore, Wolverine somewhat has experience in this field and can rely on it for a comeback in Deadpool 3.
Furthermore, since Logan is set in 2029, 7 years ahead of the MCU, Marvel Studios can fully utilize this timeframe for Wolverine's return. This presents an opportunity for them to narrate untold stories of the Wolf Man, adventures he undertook that nobody knew about before sacrificing in the future. This way, Wolverine can comfortably appear on the big screen without altering his predetermined fate.

In the blockbuster Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the appearance of Charles Xavier/Professor X, portrayed by Patrick Stewart, indirectly confirms that the 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe officially resides in the vast multiverse of the MCU. Therefore, it's not far-fetched to consider Deadpool may time-travel within his own reality to seek out Wolverine. Afterwards, this duo will 'jump' into the primary reality of the MCU, Earth-616.
There are numerous ways Marvel Studios could apply time-travel theory to bring Wolverine back and integrate him into their cinematic universe. At this point, it's challenging to ascertain how they will craft the storyline, especially when the script of Deadpool 3 is still undergoing revisions and finalization.
This movie will officially start filming in May 2023, with an expected release date of November 8, 2024. Additionally, director Shawn Levy asserts Deadpool 3 will still maintain its trademark 'wackiness' and violence like the first two films. Hence, this could very well be Marvel Studios' first R-rated project in nearly 15 years of operation.
