With a determination to turn Electronic Sports into a major entertainment sport in the future, iKonix and HQ Esports have joined forces in a strategic partnership with a vision until 2030.
Electronic Sports is becoming a beloved sport in Vietnam, comparable to traditional sports like football. At the recent SEA Games 31, Vietnam also achieved unprecedented success with 4 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals in a total of 10 Electronic Sports events, affirming its number one position in the Southeast Asian region.
Amidst the opportunity to become a promising industry, many domestic Electronic Sports organizations have been continuously expanding investments, attracting young players and athletes with generous incentives. On July 30th in Hanoi, HQ Esports and iKonix officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Electronic Sports with a vision until 2030.
Both HQ Esports and iKonix focus on training non-professional and professional gamers, as well as athletes rising from the student movement, to gradually develop electronic sports. This plan is divided into three stages from now until 2030, with immediate focus on training players in Free Fire and Mobile Legends, two games considered 'national' in Vietnam.
In addition to youth training efforts, iKonix will also support HQ Esports in positioning the personal brand of professional players. 'This is an area where Vietnamese players generally lack and are weak,' said Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, CEO of iKonix. Emphasizing the importance of building the image of players, Mr. Huy believes that young players need to be trained more rigorously in a professional environment, with proper gestures, statements, and behavior both online and offline.
From brand-building strategies, HQ Esports and iKonix will outline the organization's development strategy in an internationally standardized manner. Accordingly, HQ Esports will promote the construction of an international standard training facility, where selected players from grassroots tournaments will become interns participating in semi-professional tournaments.
The most outstanding interns will be admitted into a professional environment within the organization with ideal conditions in terms of infrastructure, training, and career orientation. With iKonix's support, former HQ Esports players after retirement can explore new roles such as content creators, coaches, managers, event organizers, media representatives, brand ambassadors, etc.
'iKonix not only appears on the jerseys of HQ Esports but also accompanies them in all events of the organization. We want to elevate this partnership beyond the scope of a typical sponsorship event,' affirmed Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, CEO of iKonix.
