Part 2: Sample Essay Imagining the Scene After 10 Years of Returning to the Current School
Essay:
It has been exactly ten years since I graduated from Hoang Mai Middle School. Time has passed, bringing along numerous changes, sparing no one and no scene. I've heard that my school has undergone significant transformations. Luckily, I had the chance to return and witness those changes firsthand.
I received an invitation to visit my old school to celebrate its 30th anniversary a week ago. I rearranged my schedule and organized a reunion with classmates, who eagerly agreed and looked forward to revisiting our old school. It was a beautiful sunny day, and on the way there, memories of my innocent school days flooded back, making me smile. The road to the school, which used to be narrow with only one lane, has now widened to two spacious lanes. The rows of tamarind trees that used to line the road are now replaced by houses, shops, bustling with more activity than before.
Arriving at the school gate, I was astonished by the completely new appearance of the school. Although the gate remained the same, the fresh coat of paint and the improved signage made it much more attractive. The school grounds have expanded, with more trees providing shade, numerous flower beds, and additional stone benches under the trees. Remembering the days when we used to play together every recess, causing chaos in the playground, I couldn't help but notice that the school, once two stories high, is now three, with some buildings reaching four floors. Surely, today's students would hesitate to come down to the playground as often.
Touring the classrooms, I was surprised to see so many new rooms. In addition to cultural classrooms, the school has built numerous laboratories, practical rooms, and projection rooms. The classrooms are increasingly modern with advanced machinery to better serve students' learning needs. The most enjoyable part of returning to school was reuniting with friends and teachers. The teachers who once taught me are now much older, and my friends have all settled into stable jobs, with some even starting families. Everyone greeted each other warmly, reminiscing about our shared memories, discussing our current lives, and making plans to meet again.
The visit to the school concluded, leaving me with indescribable emotions. Indeed, time may fade many things, but my feelings for this middle school will remain forever, accompanying me throughout my life.
