According to information from Dan Sinh newspaper, two middle-aged women on an excursion at Tam Dao National Park tragically fell to their deaths while taking photos at the waterfall. Preliminary information from Dan Sinh newspaper on August 3, around 12:00 PM, the two female members separated from the group to the waterfall area for photography and unfortunately slipped, falling into the water. Unable to swim and falling into a deep and fast-flowing water area, both victims lost their lives.

In light of this heartbreaking incident, travelers need to be mindful of the following advice to ensure safety during outdoor excursions.

Tam Dao National Park spans the entire Tam Dao mountain range, extending over 80km and ranging from 10km to 15km in width, running in the Northwest to Southeast direction. The park covers three provinces: Vinh Phuc (Tam Dao district), Thai Nguyen (Dai Tu district), and Tuyen Quang (Son Duong district). It is approximately 75km north of Hanoi and is an area of high biological diversity, serving as a reservoir for rare plant genetic resources in Vietnam.

The Tam Dao mountain range creates two distinct East and West slopes, with varying annual rainfall contributing to the creation of different microclimates. This factor also results in two climate zones: a hot and humid tropical monsoon climate from an altitude of 700m to 800m downward, and a subtropical monsoon climate zone, along with several areas with significantly different temperatures and rainfall in Tam Dao. All of these factors contribute to Tam Dao National Park being covered by a dense, multi-layered, and diverse vegetation carpet, with a variety of biological communities and ecosystems.

Visiting the Tam Dao National Park forest, you can enjoy the incredibly cool air and drifting clouds. The surroundings are covered with many evergreen old trees throughout the year. Here, besides a platform with services for dining and accommodation, you will have to venture into the forest to gather firewood for camping. – Bring some basic medicines such as: water purification tablets, camphor oil, fever-reducing medicine, anti-diarrhea medicine, antibiotics, cotton, 1% iodine solution, medical alcohol, mosquito repellent, and bandages.

– Due to the relatively undeveloped and sometimes unmarked nature of the trail, with dense covering of wild forests, it's easy to get lost. Therefore, if no one in the group is familiar with the route, it's crucial to have a local guide to lead the way. Stick together to provide mutual assistance in case of emergencies, especially when crossing streams, traversing ravines, or navigating hazardous terrain.

– Always carry specialized mountain climbing gear: Conquering the peaks in Tam Dao is a common activity for tourists. Reaching these summits often takes up an entire day or even longer. While the paths are not excessively steep and relatively easy to conquer, the uphill trails are often slippery, and visibility can be obscured by frequent fog. Equip yourself with the necessary protective gear and specialized mountain climbing equipment to ensure safety during the journey.

– Pay attention to the streamside path: Immerse yourself in the cool stream is an indispensable experience in Tam Dao National Park. The trails leading to the streams are often covered with moss, vines, slippery surfaces, and potential hazards.
