The main raw material used to craft these bamboo shoots is clay extracted from the fields in the region. After bringing the clay back, it is molded into molds to give it shape. After about 3 days, a layer of cement is applied to the bamboo shoots to add color, and they are left to dry in the sun before being handed over to traders.
