This year, Hon Mong Tay stands out as the most talked-about island on travel forums. It captivates not only backpackers but also locals who are beginning to take notice of this small yet paradisiacal gem. Additionally, Hon May Rut, Hon Thom, and Hon Dam Ngang are equally beloved.
Tứ Hòn in Phu Quoc became the ultimate destination for adventurous travelers in 2016.
1. Hon Thom
Part of the An Thoi archipelago, Hon Thom spans 5.7 km². Despite its modest size, it boasts a marvelously enchanting natural beauty with promising tourism services and aquaculture. Hon Thom now has electricity, schools, and stations to support the local fishermen and the development of the island commune. A unique aspect of Hon Thom is that every resident has two houses, one facing west and the other east, to adapt to seasonal winds and avoid storms and strong winds.

Hon Thom features four main beaches: Chuong Beach, Nam Beach, Nom Beach, and Chao Beach. Chao Beach, located northwest of Hon Thom, is at its most beautiful from March to December, with a picturesque scene of evenly spaced coconut trees lining the shore alongside two majestic and mysterious rocky cliffs, creating an incredibly fascinating natural landscape. Nearby, Ky Lan Cape is an excellent spot for diving to admire coral reefs and is also a fantastic marvel crafted from rocks with various intriguing shapes that will surely leave you mesmerized if you find yourself wandering here.

2. Dam Ngang Island (Gham Ghi Island)
Dam Ngang Island, also known as Gham Ghi Island, is famous for its stunning coral reefs. From afar, Dam Ngang Island features unique rock formations sculpted by wind and waves. The area remains largely untouched, with some pristine beaches waiting to be explored. The refreshing water will surely provide you with endless enjoyment.

The coral density here is quite remarkable, to the point where you can see it clearly with just a glimpse underwater. The coral ecosystem surrounding Dam Ngang Island is considered one of the richest in Vietnam, boasting 17 different types of hard and soft corals. The colorful coral reefs are bound to leave a lasting impression on first-time visitors.

3. Cloud Withdrawal Island
Only in recent years, after some tourists visiting Phu Quoc chartered boats to discover Cloud Withdrawal Island and brought back tales of its mystical beauty, its azure beaches, and stories of the noble and hospitable 'island queen' family, did this island begin to gain more recognition and attract tourists seeking adventure.

Here, you can freely roam the orchards to pick mangoes and coconuts, plunge into the sea for a swim, or simply laze around on a hammock with the gentle breeze and soothing waves beneath your feet. When you tire of leisure, you can bid farewell and head back, or if you wish to stay longer, you can request to spend the night on the island.

4. Nails Island
Nails Island is an ideal destination for camping, exploring deserted islands, and admiring breathtaking natural scenery. Arriving at Nails Island, you'll be greeted by crystal clear turquoise waters, shimmering coconut trees, perfectly arranged rock formations, and smooth white sandy beaches with their unique charm. Venturing deeper into the island, you'll find vast expanses of burnt grasslands.

You may also come across a few nails trees (Casuarina equisetifolia), the reason behind the island's distinctive name. All you'll hear is the gentle lapping of waves, the whispering wind, with all the hustle and bustle of urban life fading away. Feeling completely immersed in the vast expanse of land and sky will evoke overwhelming emotions for those who come here.
