Flexible Design of Galaxy Z Fold4, Perfect for Multitasking
The exterior design of a phone is one of the first factors that attract users' attention, and the Galaxy Z Fold4 has excelled in this aspect. Samsung's premium flagship still maintains a familiar design language and has undergone years of research and development to achieve the most flexible folding mechanism among the foldable smartphones available in the market. The design remains similar to the Galaxy Z Fold3, but Samsung has made slight adjustments to provide a better grip for users.

If you pay close attention, you'll notice that the width of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is slightly larger and the length is slightly narrower compared to the Galaxy Z Fold3. This makes the device feel much more comfortable to hold than the Galaxy Z Fold3. Additionally, the front screen of the device has also been enlarged, which I highly appreciate because the keys are now wider, reducing the likelihood of typing errors.

The back of the Galaxy Z Fold4 remains largely unchanged compared to its predecessor. However, this year's Galaxy Z Fold4 comes with a new color option: Fresh Cream, which looks youthful and vibrant. This indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold4 is targeting a younger audience and increasing its visibility.

In terms of real-world experience, I'm quite satisfied with what the Galaxy Z Fold4 offers. The device weighs only 263 grams, providing a solid grip and easy portability. Additionally, the matte back of the device helps prevent dirt and sweat buildup.

Moreover, Galaxy Z Fold4 greatly assists me in my daily tasks. With tasks that require constant news updates and multitasking, a small display like those on regular smartphones cannot meet the demands. Fortunately, Galaxy Z Fold4 with its excellent multitasking capabilities allows me to simultaneously view 3 apps such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram while staying updated with the latest news. Additionally, I can easily switch layouts among the three apps for convenient observation.

In particular, I absolutely love the incredibly convenient taskbar on Galaxy Z Fold4. With this tool, I can quickly switch between the apps I need without having to exit and reopen. Furthermore, if using one app with one hand becomes tiring, you can fold it at a 90-degree angle with Flex Mode. At this point, one app you're using will move up while the lower part will display various options. Among them, I really like the trackpad style on Galaxy Z Fold4, as it makes the device function like a mini laptop, with smooth and efficient cursor movement, despite the slightly smaller display area.

Furthermore, many apps on Galaxy Z Fold4 are still not fully optimized, especially when browsing each app like Facebook, which will have two annoying black bars, or even on TikTok. Therefore, I hope that in the near future, Galaxy Z Fold 4 can be fully optimized to provide users with the best app experience.

Galaxy Z Fold4 boasts a powerhouse configuration with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, gaming experience is top-notch but not perfect yet!
Firstly, let's highlight the specifications of Galaxy Z Fold4 for everyone's convenience! Specifically, they are as follows:
- Display: 7.6 inches (main screen), 6.2 inches (cover screen), Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120 Hz.
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
- RAM: 12 GB.
- Internal Storage: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
- Battery: 4,400 mAh.
- Rear Camera: 50 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP.

- 4,400 mAh battery, 25 W fast charging.

As everyone can see in the specifications, Galaxy Z Fold4 is privileged with the most powerful chip from Qualcomm to date - Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This processor is manufactured based on TSMC's 4nm process, optimized for temperature and power consumption. Moreover, it still uses a 3-cluster architecture: 1 Cortex X2 core at 3.2 GHz + 3 Cortex A710 cores at 2.75 GHz + 4 Cortex A510 cores at 2.0 GHz. As for the GPU, it's the Adreno 730 running at 900 MHz. Hence, you can rest assured about the performance this chip brings to help Galaxy Z Fold4 handle various tasks seamlessly. Let's now assess the performance of Galaxy Z Fold4 to see how powerful this phone is!
- Performance Assessment of Galaxy Z Fold4
I've assessed the performance of Galaxy Z Fold4 using common software such as GeekBench 5 (single-core/multi-core and GPU Compute), 3DMark, and PCMark so that you can have a visual understanding of the device's performance. The conditions for assessment are as follows:
- The device's battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect performance and results).
- Do not charge the battery while assessing.
- Assess 3 times consecutively and take the average result after 3 assessments.

First, let's evaluate the device's performance using two apps: GeekBench 5 and PCMark. Here are the results I obtained:
- GeekBench 5:
- Single-core/Multi-core scores: 1,295 points / 3,841 points.
- GPU Compute: 6,512 points.

- PCMark: 14,431 points.

Based on the two tests above, the scores achieved by Galaxy Z Fold4 are excellent and in line with the performance expected from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Next, we'll move on to a more demanding test: Wild Life Extreme. In this test, the Xiaomi 12 Pro scored a total of 2,721 points with an average frame rate of 16.3 FPS. Surprisingly, the battery life of this phone remained stable throughout the benchmarking process. Additionally, the device's temperature increased by 2 degrees Celsius (from 35°C to 37°C), and the battery only decreased by 1% (from 97% to 96%). However, I find these numbers to be negligible.

Finally, we come to the most challenging test: the Wild Life Extreme Stress Test (which will be repeated 20 times) used to assess the stability of the smartphone when performing heavy tasks (gaming, video editing, etc.) for extended periods. You can view the results in the image below and pay attention to the Stability section!

The results are highly impressive, with the Galaxy Z Fold4 achieving a commendable stability rating of 86.8%. This demonstrates that Samsung has optimized the device exceptionally well. With such a score, I believe users can engage in prolonged gaming sessions with stable performance. Additionally, the device only experienced a 6% drop in battery (from 94% to 88%) during the test, and the temperature increased by only 1 degree Celsius (from 41°C to 42°C). I'm truly satisfied with the results achieved by the Galaxy Z Fold4, as the device no longer exhibits overheating issues like those seen with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, providing only a gentle warmth instead!

While the high score is impressive, real-world user experience is what truly matters and directly impacts users. Therefore, let's experience some popular games on the Galaxy Z Fold4 to see how this phone performs!

- Arena of Valor
First up is the national MOBA game of Vietnam - Arena of Valor. With a premium device like the Galaxy Z Fold4, I confidently set the graphics to the highest level without encountering any difficulties. You can refer to the graphics settings in the image below!
This is a very basic game, so it can't pose any challenge to the Galaxy Z Fold4 with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The experience on the Galaxy Z Fold4 is smooth, with excellent movement and clear, sharp image details in the game. However, this game has not been fully optimized, so the characters appear very zoomed in, even though I have adjusted the camera to a wide angle. This indicates that the app has not fully adapted to the Galaxy Z Fold4 and requires an update in the near future for better optimization.
- PUBG Mobile
Next up, I'm going to play the Battle Royale shooting game - PUBG Mobile, a game that still challenges many devices due to its large graphics data processing requirement. In terms of settings, I can push the graphics to the highest level, but the frame rate only reaches the Ultra level. However, to balance between graphics and frame rate, I recommend everyone to decrease one notch to achieve FPS at Extreme level.
During gameplay, the experience provided by the Galaxy Z Fold4 is smooth and exhilarating, not inferior to Arena of Valor. I even prefer PUBG Mobile because the phone's perspective is quite high, almost like having a hidden map hack. Even in complex graphics scenes like parachute landing, the device performs excellently, with no stuttering, lagging, or FPS drops. Additionally, I noticed that the device remains cool while handling various intensive tasks, so I'm quite satisfied with what the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 offers.
- Call Of Duty Mobile
The third game I experienced is Call of Duty Mobile. Without disappointing my expectations, the Galaxy Z Fold4 can fully meet almost the highest image quality. This doesn't surprise me much because it's powered by Qualcomm's flagship chip.
For this game, the experience that the Galaxy Z Fold4 provides me is really satisfying. Although this game has graphics that are not much inferior to PUBG Mobile, according to my personal assessment, I find that Call of Duty Mobile is well optimized for the device, so it runs smoothly, with minimal lag, and especially doesn't overheat during long gaming sessions.
- Play Together
Next up is the lightest game, Play Together. For this game, I'll provide the specific graphics settings in the image below for your reference!

In this game, the Galaxy Z Fold4 performed excellently, smoothly handling all my actions, with fast and precise character movement and excellent graphics.
- Genshin Impact
Arriving at the final game, and also the heaviest game known as the 'hungry demon' for all smartphones today, including high-end devices. I can completely adjust the FPS to 60. However, I think everyone should set the FPS to 30 to avoid lagging issues.
My speculation was correct, when set to 60 FPS, my experience was quite poor. Specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold4 experienced significant lagging, making character movements jerky and uncomfortable. Additionally, the device began to heat up quickly. Therefore, I advise everyone to set the FPS to 30 for the best experience!
Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold4 can handle most popular games today with graphics settings nearly maxed out. Additionally, what I like most about the Galaxy Z Fold4 is that it provides a smooth gaming experience for most games. Although Genshin Impact experiences significant lagging. However, overall, the device does not overheat if graphics settings are adjusted appropriately. If you're a casual gamer, I believe the performance of the Galaxy Z Fold4 will not disappoint you.
Galaxy Z Fold4 with a 4,400 mAh battery but can last over 8 hours
To verify the statement above, I will measure the battery life of the Galaxy Z Fold4 by testing the battery according to the standards of Mytour under specific conditions as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including: Playing Liên Quân Mobile (graphics settings as above), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using Chrome.
- Each task used for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness 100%, refresh rate set to 120 Hz.
- Volume set to 50%.
- Wi-Fi on and receiving notifications from social networks.
- No battery saving mode, adaptive screen, GPS, and Bluetooth.
- Test conducted from 100% to 0%.
- Game Turbo mode enabled to optimize device performance for gaming tasks.
Here are the results I obtained:

So, the Galaxy Z Fold4 managed to last for 8 hours and 10 minutes after the rigorous test I conducted. This result exceeds my expectations because in the predecessor model, the Galaxy Z Fold3, I could only use it for about 4 to 5 hours, even with gaming, before needing to recharge. Therefore, I consider this a significant improvement on the Galaxy Z Fold4, also affirming the power-saving capability of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Additionally, I believe that the test conditions were somewhat demanding, and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip on the Galaxy Z Fold4 operates at maximum capacity during gaming, which may result in faster battery drain. However, during normal usage, I feel that the device offers slightly longer usage time.

The usage time on the Galaxy Z Fold4 has significantly improved, however, the device is only equipped with 25W fast charging, a number that is not very impressive in today's era. I conducted a test on the charging speed of the Galaxy Z Fold4, and you can view the results in the image below!

A small note, I conducted this test without using the original Samsung fast charger; instead, I used a Baseus 65W fast charger and cable to test the charging speed of the Galaxy Z Fold4. As you can see above, the Galaxy Z Fold4 charges quite fast, taking only 45 minutes to reach 84%. The total time to fully charge is 1 hour, which is quite impressive and enough for people to sustain their work continuously.

Galaxy Z Fold4 50 MP camera with significantly upgraded image quality
Before diving into the camera performance evaluation, let me quickly highlight the camera specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold4 for your reference!
- Main camera (wide angle): 50 MP resolution, f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
- Ultra-wide angle camera: 12 MP resolution, f/2.4 aperture, 123-degree field of view.
- Telephoto camera: 10 MP resolution, f/2.2 aperture, 3X optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

Just by mentioning the basic camera specs, Galaxy Z Fold4 seems quite promising to impress everyone. Specifically, the main camera has been upgraded to 50 MP resolution with significantly larger pixel size compared to other phones in the same segment. However, does this mean that the Galaxy Z Fold4 camera will deliver high-quality photos? Let's find out below!

Under normal conditions, Galaxy Z Fold4 has nothing to complain about. Specifically, as you can see in the photo below, the captured images have good brightness and high contrast levels, so the colors in the photo look quite realistic under outdoor conditions, as the weather was a bit gloomy when I took the photos. Additionally, the AI camera system on Galaxy Z Fold4 quickly and accurately detects subjects. For example, in park or street conditions, the camera focuses very quickly and there is very little noise.

Furthermore, I noticed that the ultra-wide-angle camera on Galaxy Z Fold4 has the ability to balance light quite well. When shooting wide-angle, the central details are accurately reproduced, with true colors and sharp details. However, when looking at the corners, the scenery is quite distorted and there is some noise. If you're not too picky about this downside, I think Galaxy Z Fold4 will leave you satisfied.

Not stopping there, the adjustments to the camera system compared to previous generations in both color and contrast, along with the improved AI algorithm, have made the Galaxy Z Fold4 camera more impressive in low-light conditions. Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold3, I noticed that the Galaxy Z Fold4 has completely addressed that weakness, with photos no longer blurry or shaky.

Even in nighttime shooting conditions, the Galaxy Z Fold4 only takes a few seconds to capture an image in extreme low-light. Through the photos below, you can see that the details are well reproduced, with moderate brightness, although not outstanding compared to some other Android devices. Overall, with the upgraded AI algorithm and the advantages this device brings, I think it still deserves to be a top-notch flagship with top-quality camera capabilities today.

As for the selfie camera quality on the Galaxy Z Fold4, I have nothing to complain about. True-to-life colors, excellent beauty adjustments with details like hair, all colors are accurate.

Not to mention the portrait mode capability on the Galaxy Z Fold4 is equally impressive. With this feature, we can create incredibly artistic portrait photos. If you pay close attention, the blurred background adds just the right touch to make the female model stand out artistically!

How much is the Galaxy Z Fold4? Is it worth buying?
Above are my reviews on the Galaxy Z Fold4. In summary, I find it to be a very modern phone with flexible folding capabilities, sleek design, beautiful photo capturing abilities, and powerful specs for gaming. Therefore, in my opinion, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is suitable for those who want a versatile phone, capable of multitasking, capturing impressive photos with vibrant colors for social media without requiring extensive editing afterward.
