Released in 2021, the Dell Latitude 5320 is a business laptop known for its compact size, robust build, and suitability for office employees, students, and scholars. This article provides a comprehensive review of the laptop's features.
Design
The Latitude 5320 boasts a fresh color compared to its predecessor. The body is crafted from high-quality plastic in a captivating gray instead of the typical black. This color adds a touch of sophistication, departing from the rugged look of previous models. Despite its thickness, the machine feels sturdy and durable. Weighing only 1.18kg, it is exceptionally lightweight for a 13.3-inch laptop.
When touching the A surface and the wrist-rest area, a smooth and cool sensation is felt. The machine's edges are gently curved, and although some flex is noticeable when pressed, it is minimal thanks to the premium plastic casing.
The laptop hinge is exceptionally sturdy, requiring both hands to open. The maximum opening angle is 180 degrees. Connectivity options include 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 2 USB type A 3.2 ports, 1 SD card slot, 1 4G SIM slot, and 1 HDMI port.
High-Quality Display
The laptop features a 13.3-inch display with Full HD resolution and borderless IPS panel. The maximum brightness is 300 nits. The color gamut reaches up to 100% sRGB, ensuring clear, natural, and true-to-life colors. There are several screen options available for the Latitude 5320 on the market for users to choose from.
The touch-sensitive matte screen enhances convenience during tasks like reading and web browsing without needing a mouse. In addition to the screen camera, the laptop is equipped with a facial recognition sensor for quick and secure logins. With the 5320 model I'm using, it boasts a quality screen that satisfies my expectations.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The laptop's keyboard is designed in a compact, mini size suitable for a 13.3-inch device. The key spacing is just right, with a key travel of 1.5mm. Typing feels secure and comfortable due to the high-quality keys. The keyboard is equipped with two-level LED backlighting. The power button, located on the top right of the keyboard, integrates a fingerprint sensor. This key is surrounded by white LED lighting to avoid confusion during use.
The touchpad section doesn't boast any extraordinary features, but there's nothing to complain about either. The surface of the touchpad is lightly textured, providing a smooth and responsive feel for navigation and swiping.
Powerful Performance for Office Tasks
The laptop is equipped with an i7-1185G7 chip, with a base clock speed of 3.0Hz that can go up to 4.8Hz. It comes with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. For office tasks like web browsing and reading, it performs effortlessly. Heavier tasks such as photo editing, color correction, or editing Full HD 60FPS videos still run smoothly.
Certain game titles like League of Legends, CS:GO, and FIFA Online 4 can be played seamlessly with a relatively high FPS. During a trial of League of Legends, the FPS outside of combat reached 100, while in combat, it maintained 65-70 FPS. There's no noticeable heating around the keyboard area during gameplay. However, it's not specifically designed for gaming.
Slightly disappointing is the fact that this Dell Latitude 5320 comes with fixed 8GB RAM onboard and cannot be upgraded. The only possible upgrade is the SSD because it is removable for that purpose. Choose the right RAM configuration based on your needs.
These are my experiences and some reviews after a few days with the Dell Latitude 5320 laptop. Considering its price of around 18 million VND, the build quality, configuration, and experiences it provides make it stand out among laptops in its price range.
