Not everyone in One Piece gets stronger when they reminisce, just so you know!
Despite being highly praised by readers, within One Piece, there are many recurring tropes that every time they appear, readers know what's going on. A prime example of this is Luffy, who whenever faced with difficulty against an opponent, the refrain of 'remembering what the master taught' or 'reminiscing' will visibly strengthen our main character and lead to victory. In reality, some other characters in One Piece, like Zoro, also receive this favoritism.

However, not everyone is so fortunate. Surely, we all remember Big Mom and the moment before being defeated by Law and Kid. When falling into a deep hole, this Four Emperor reminisced about Roger and wondered what One Piece really is. In chapter 1041, this repeats with Kaido, who reminisced about Big Mom and their first encounter. Afterward, Kaido was attacked by Luffy with a new devastating blow.

Clearly, after Big Mom, it seems like Kaido reminiscing about something in the past is a harbinger indicating that this Four Emperor is about to be defeated. If this indeed happens, many One Piece fans might be quite disappointed with the battle between Kaido and Luffy.
If the previous two times witnessing Kaido's overwhelming strength made Luffy unconscious, this third time, the tables have completely turned. From a powerful Emperor of the sea, Kaido now becomes nothing more than a 'punching bag' for Luffy to test his newfound strength against.

Because of this, many readers believe that not everyone in One Piece gets stronger when they reminisce. Perhaps it's only true for Luffy and a few other characters favored by Oda, while for Big Mom or now Kaido, reminiscing seems like a sign that this Emperor is about to be defeated.

What do you think about the fact that reminiscing, which is also a part of One Piece, why isn't Kaido buffed with strength like Luffy? Feel free to share your opinions on this issue!
