As they strive to ascend the mountain to the castle to meet Dr. Kureha, Sanji gets injured due to an avalanche.In the harsh, bleeding conditions, Luffy persists in climbing with both teammates, Sanji and Nami.
Fortunately, upon arrival, Luffy encounters Dr. Kureha, and everyone receives care. Luffy even disregards his own injuries, insisting that Dr. Kureha tend to Sanji and Nami first. Luffy truly is a captain ready to sacrifice for his crew.
3. Assault on Enies Lobby and Battle against the World Government to Save Nico Robin
One of the best scenes in One Piece is when the Straw Hat crew fights together to rescue Nico Robin at Enies Lobby. Despite Nico Robin seemingly betraying Luffy and others, Luffy continues to trust her, pursuing her all the way to Enies Lobby. Interestingly,Luffy even instructs Sogeking to burn the World Government flag and declare war against them.For the sake of saving a friend, Luffy won't care even if the entire world becomes his enemy.
4. Enduring Hunger if Sanji Doesn't Return
Not long ago, when Sanji chose to leave the Straw Hat crew and marry Pudding, Luffy declared he would not swallow any food except the ones Sanji cooks. Despite hunger and a visibly lean physique from not eating, Luffy endures with the belief that Sanji will surely return to stand side by side with the Straw Hats. No matter how Sanji attacks him, Luffy remains steadfast, refusing to retaliate against his comrade.
5. Willing to break his own arm to rescue Sanji
Luffy and Nami get captured and imprisoned in the Book Prison by Charlotte Mont-d'Or. Initially not too distressed, when Luffy learns of Pudding's plan to kill Sanji, he immediately attempts to break his own arm to escape the prison.Luffy cares little about the fate of his arm if it means escaping and ensuring everyone's survival.Fortunately, Jinbe intervenes early to rescue Luffy and Nami.
6. Assaulting Kaido, believing he killed his crew
Luffy never concerns himself with how powerful his opponent is; anyone who harms his comrades will face the consequences. Similarly, when Kaido launches a fireball towards Oden Castle, where part of the Straw Hat crew is located, it infuriates Luffy, prompting him to attack Kaido. Luffy doesn't care that his opponent is a Yonko; he'll attack regardless.
However, thanks to the power of Shinobu's Juku Juku no Mi Devil Fruit, everyone at Oden Castle survives unharmed. Luffy, unaware of this, is subsequently defeated by Kaido with a single blow and imprisoned.
