In One Piece, Zoro's greatest ambition as a member of the Straw Hat Pirates is to become the greatest swordsman in the world.
The Wano Arc continues to unfold, bringing countless surprises to fans. Currently, the battle at Onigashima is reaching its climax, with a plethora of formidable characters showcasing their strength. Previously, we saw the Worst Generation facing off against two Yonko, and now they are confronting their respective adversaries.
Luffy is currently facing off against Kaido, Eustass Kid and Law are dealing with Big Mom. Killer has just emerged victorious in a battle against Basil Hawkins. And Zoro himself is now facing off against King. However, confronting the strongest commander of the Beast Pirates is certainly no easy feat, as Zoro is clearly being overwhelmed.
Previously, many fans believed that Zoro would succeed in defeating King. Not only that, Zoro was predicted to be capable of surpassing the tremendous strength of Kozuki Oden. And it seems that these predictions are beginning to be proven true, as evidenced by some clues emerging in the story.

Secondly, it's believed that Zoro will surpass Kozuki Oden once he truly masters the sword Enma. In chapter 1033, we were enlightened about the sword, its connection to its wielder and its creators. Specifically, the swordsmiths like Shimotsuki Kozaburo and Tenguyamadã crafted the sword with two hopes.
Firstly, by its purpose, the sword must be able to take the lives of as many as possible. Then, the user must have the ability to turn their sword into a black blade. In doing so, the fate and purpose of the swordsmith will be fulfilled. And Oden is the only one known to have mastered Enma, albeit after a long time.
During this time, Oden began to understand Enma and could control it, so he could find loopholes to avoid any negative effects when using it. In chapter 1033, we saw throughout the battle Zoro always kept his Conqueror's Haki from being fully utilized. However, that's not what Enma wants. Enma itself wants Zoro to fully utilize his Conqueror's Haki because that's how it can be used to master Enma. The simple concept is that Enma will yield an extremely powerful effect, provided the user is willing to let Enma absorb a lot of Haki.
As shown in his own story flashback, Kozuki Oden never hesitated to wield Haki. In fact, even when joining Roger and Whitebeard's crews, Oden was considered a character capable of using top-tier Haki on par with other Yonko commanders. However, one thing Oden lacked was complete control over Enma. It's worth noting that Oden could indeed control the sword of Enma, but he never truly mastered it even though he had Enma for a long time. That's why Enma and Ame no Habakiri are not black blades like Yoru or Shusui.
However, the interesting thing is that although Zoro has owned Enma for a shorter time than Oden, Zoro has been able to understand what Enma wants and he can adapt quickly. By fully mastering Enma, Zoro will be able to fulfill his promise to Luffy as well as his dream of becoming the greatest swordsman. If Zoro achieves this, it means Zoro has surpassed the legend of Kozuki Oden.
