Players of Teamfight Tactics should utilize the following units to climb ranks more efficiently in the new patch.
Kassadin
Though not typically the center of attention in patch 11.23, Kassadin has never truly shined in any specific team composition. While Kassadin can be used frequently in Protector reroll compositions, the unit you should prioritize itemization for is still Garen, in order to fully leverage the Academy synergy. Even with offensive items, Kog'Maw tends to take precedence over Kassadin.

However, things have somewhat changed in the current patch as Kassadin is now able to hold defensive items like Giant Slayer, Bramble Vest... This is due to the strong emergence of the Mutant synergy allowing for such flexibility. Furthermore, in many matches, finding an early Cho'Gath is extremely challenging for Mutant teams. Therefore, it's essential to have a sturdy Kassadin to sustain before considering rolling for Cho'Gath.
Shaco
Shaco emerges as the most heavily buffed champion in patch 11.24 of Teamfight Tactics. From energy, base health to skill damage, Shaco has been significantly boosted. Consequently, this jester will deal much more damage when equipped with disruptive items like Infinity Edge, Guinsoo's Rageblade. Moreover, the increased defensive stats from the Gangster origin buff also allow Shaco to be more comfortable in dealing damage.

In a context where Katarina receives significant nerfs, transitioning to focus on Shaco is what Assassins players should do. Aim for the 5 Gangster milestone mid-game to maximize the buffed defensive stats of this unit. At that point, not only Shaco but other units like Twisted Fate, Syndra also possess considerable resilience and damage output. You can even use them as secondary carries alongside Shaco and leave items for Akali.
Urgot
Following a rather heavy nerf in update 11.23, Urgot practically disappeared from the meta in the previous patch. However, with the revamp of the Chemtech origin and some power buffs to Urgot himself, the gameplay revolving around this unit has returned strongly. With the maximum energy reduced to 50, Urgot can unleash skills and deal damage much more frequently. This is a significant buff for a unit that doesn't use energy items like Urgot.

Regarding the Chemtech origin, the revamp in patch 11.24 significantly enhances the damage potential of this composition at 5/7 unit thresholds. With the upgrade of Chemtech Emblem to include Zac, a very strong 3-gold unit, building your composition becomes much easier. Saving health, having a long win streak from this upgrade also gives players more opportunities to acquire a powerful Urgot in the late game.
