The name sounds cute, but everything else is liberal and mature.
Fat Cup, affectionately nicknamed 'Chubby Cup', is far from your typical teen-themed café. Its design is Mediterranean-inspired, featuring gentle tones of brown, orange, and pastel blue. With tall plants and rustic-style furniture, the ambiance is airy, spacious, yet retains a romantic touch.
One compelling reason to visit Fat Cup in the Diplomatic Corps area is its expansive high glass wall, which from behind resembles a natural painting. In autumn, when trees shed their leaves, sitting at a long table corner, you'll be mesmerized by the thousands of falling leaves after a gust of wind. You might just feel like you're in a romantic movie scene.
The ambiance exudes romance akin to a romantic movie
What I particularly love about Fat Cup is their beverages, especially the Americano. It strikes a perfect balance of acidity and aroma, with the right amount of bitterness from the espresso. My standard for Americano is quite high, and it must have acidity derived from Arabica coffee, not just from fresh lemon slices. You can also try their refreshing summer drinks here, which also carry hints of the Mediterranean. It's quite an enjoyable experience.
The Americano boasts just the right acidity without any bitterness
Additionally, the café offers a variety of pastries like other coffee shops. To ensure the perfect pairing, ask the staff about drinks that complement each pastry. Chubby Cup has outdoor tables for customers who want to enjoy coffee with a cigarette, or engage in conversations and chats.

Contrary to Chubby Cup, Mimita Coffee exudes a more romantic and feminine ambiance. The floral decor, mirrors, white furniture, walls of the same hue, and gray floor... create a spacious and pure atmosphere. Some young people believe that floral decor is a hot trend in Hanoi. If that's the case, I believe Mimita Coffee is doing exceptionally well in incorporating flowers to evoke femininity without being overly sentimental.
Mimita Coffee is excelling in using flowers to evoke femininity without being overly sentimental.
Located in the Diplomatic Corps area - a relatively new urban area with excellent infrastructure. High ceilings are a plus, providing ample space, and the furniture is arranged logically. Mimita has three floors, but only the second floor is abundant with flowers and ideal spots for 'virtual living.' The café also takes advantage of its westward orientation, welcoming the afternoon sun with glass walls. If you want a photo with sunlight, choose a sunny day and visit in the afternoon. However, if you're here to work or chill with a deadline, you should come in the morning when the café is less crowded.

Beverages here are reasonably priced and cater to the tastes of high school and college students. Various machine-brewed coffees, tropical teas, fruit-infused teas... are all crafted according to a formula exclusive to Mimita. Naturally, there are essential ingredients for this season: Rich cream, savory cream, buttery salt... You can also opt for traditional flavors if you prefer.

If you've been around Hanoi lately, chances are you've stumbled upon Rosier Fresh Tea & Coffee. Similar to the casual bubble tea spot 'Mixue', we like to think of it as an ideology! There are numerous Rosier branches scattered across Hanoi, and if you pay attention, you'll notice they're often bustling with students or young professionals.
The Diplomatic Corps areas are just a few hundred meters away, surrounded by major roads, making it easy to find for first-time visitors.
Simple and refined Minimalism style
The establishment clearly targets a specific clientele: young individuals who enjoy photography... That's why it's designed in a minimalist style with predominantly white tones, matching furniture in beige or gray... There are two floors where you can work or chat with friends. The tables are spaced far apart due to the spacious layout, ensuring necessary privacy.
You can work or host gatherings with friends here
Here's a little tip for those heading to Rosier: besides the interior that suits every style of the cafe, the exterior is also an excellent choice. The smooth gray walls, not too many storefronts cluttering the view, create a simple yet stylish atmosphere.
The menu offers a variety of drinks from coffee, fruit tea, milk tea to delicious and visually appealing desserts.
The drink menu is diverse, ranging from coffee, fruit tea, milk tea, fresh milk... and of course, delicious pastries. The drinks are served in a cup with a lid, which is both clean and convenient. Perfect for those who want to take away and can fit in a purse for a ride.
