A Remarkable Incident at a Wedding in Bharthana Leaves Bald Gentlemen in Stitches
Arranged marriages are quite common in India. However, besides the benefits they bring, marrying without a clear understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses often leads to challenging situations, as seen with the couple in Etawah district. Instead of going through with the wedding, the bride announced the cancellation upon discovering her prospective husband's baldness.

According to eyewitness accounts, the groom, Ajay Kumar, is a resident of Bidhuna town in Auraiya district. On February 23rd, Ajay and his family embarked from Bidhuna to Bharthana in Etawah district to organize the wedding arranged by their family.
After completing the customary exchange of garlands, a traditional ritual in Indian weddings, a calamity unfolded. The bride suddenly noticed the groom's nervousness, his cautious movements, and his frequent adjustments to his headgear. Earlier, some had mentioned to her that the groom wore a wig due to baldness. However, she paid no heed to these warnings until she observed suspicious behavior firsthand.
Upon seeing her balding groom wearing a wig, the bride fainted on the spot, collapsing from the wedding stage. Upon regaining consciousness, she adamantly refused to marry the groom, regardless of both families' attempts to convince her to proceed with the ceremony.

Some wedding guests revealed that the bride refused to marry the bald groom. When the groom's family gave up persuading the bride, both families got into a scuffle. Elderly individuals present had to mediate between the two sides. The bride's family blamed the groom's family for deceiving them and taking the bride home.
The groom had to leave the wedding venue empty-handed. However, before the chaotic situation was dispersed, the groom's family went to the Usrahar police station and filed a lawsuit against the bride's family. The bride's family also expressed great indignation, accusing the groom's family of deceiving them to the police. Gangadas Gautam, the station chief, told the media that the bride was not ready for marriage after seeing the groom's wig.
Both families filed lawsuits with the police, he said, but later they withdrew the complaints and requested to settle privately.
