Google has officially launched the beta version of Google Play Games for PC across Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. This means users with Google Play accounts from these regions can play some Android games on PC.
This version is now available for direct download from Google's website, allowing you to browse, download, and play pre-existing mobile games. Currently, Google has over 40 games on this platform, making it an ideal start for the beta version.

Potential games like Genshin Impact with a vast character roster have yet to appear, but since Android still does not support controllers, it will take some more time. Instead, the list of supported apps includes most well-known mobile games like Idle Heroes, Cookie Run, and games like Gardenscapes and Homescapes,...
It remains uncertain whether games like these truly benefit from Google Play Games for PC, as they are mostly optimized for mobile devices. Nevertheless, playing with a mouse and keyboard often holds a clear advantage, especially with a wider selection of games. Nonetheless, it's fantastic to have the option to play these games on a larger screen without draining your phone's battery.

To run the beta version of Google Play Games for PC, you may also need to enable hardware virtualization. This allows your computer to emulate Google's game environment.

Google has reduced the minimum hardware requirements to run this new version. The beta version now only requires Windows 10 instead of 11 and has relatively light hardware demands (8 GB RAM paired with Intel UHD Graphics 630 or equivalent GPU and a 4-core CPU). The only somewhat strict requirement is an SSD with 10 GB of free space. Most PCs nowadays can easily handle Google Play Games for PC.
