If you haven't experienced BBQ Garden at 163 Hue Street out of sheer curiosity, you'll never grasp why this place is dubbed the “ocean amidst Hanoi.”
First Remarkable Discovery: There's a “Green Ocean” in the Heart of Hanoi!
I ventured into BBQ Garden – a quaint hotpot and grill restaurant nestled at 163 Hue Street – on a chilly Friday evening, rain gently tapping away. Indeed, amidst cold weather, indulging in hotpot and grill is the epitome of warmth and joy. Stepping inside the establishment, I immediately felt enveloped in coziness!

The ambiance at BBQ Garden on Hue Street exudes warmth and romance!
On the day I visited BBQ Garden, it was relatively quiet, with a modest spread of dishes. Yet, the food looked remarkably fresh, delicious, and appealing. Although it seemed sparse compared to other buffet joints, I found myself continuously indulging, unable to taste every dish displayed.

The biggest plus point is the freshness of the food served at BBQ Garden.

BBQ Garden earns brownie points for romantic rendezvous with its warm and sophisticated ambiance.
At BBQ Garden, appetizers feature a selection of salads, rolls, rice paper wraps, mixed rice paper, porridge, soup, Italian noodles, sushi, and sashimi, which might seem modest compared to other buffets. But don't underestimate them; my advice is to indulge in plenty of appetizers before diving into the main courses to ensure you have enough room for everything.

While BBQ Garden's sushi and sashimi selection may not be extensive, the quick replenishment ensures you're never left waiting for your favorite bites.
Salads at BBQ Garden lean towards fresh greens to balance out the grilled and hotpot main courses, presented in an appealing manner. I highly recommend the Caesar salad, with its crisp greens, perfectly tossed dressing, and ideal texture—a delightful choice for those looking to maintain their figure and skin health.

Loaded with fresh greens, BBQ Garden's salads not only enhance your appearance but also promote skin health for our female guests.
I absolutely adore the seafood soup at BBQ Garden—it strikes the perfect balance of freshness and mildness. The porridge is cooked to just the right consistency, with a naturally sweet aroma. Though slightly subtle in flavor, it's ideal for the little ones. Don't miss out on trying a bowl of salmon porridge; it guarantees delicious, nutritious warmth on chilly days in Hanoi.

I have a penchant for the meats, vegetables, and seafood for the grilling and hotpot dishes at this restaurant. Each ingredient is impeccably fresh and meticulously arranged on ice beds to ensure freshness and flavor.

Just looking at them assures you of their freshness and quality!
What impressed me most at the establishment is their commitment to 100% fresh seafood. When requested, guests can have seafood scooped directly from the tank, meticulously cleaned, and served at the table. Eating seafood here feels like dining by a miniature ocean in the heart of Hanoi. The friendly manager even offered to show me around the seafood tanks located just behind the restaurant. Along the way, I couldn't help but admire the food processing and storage area, which was impeccably clean, everyone!

This squid, doesn't it look enticing, folks?
The grilling menu at BBQ Garden features beef, chicken, pork, frog, shrimp, oyster, squid, and more, accompanied by corn, mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, and fresh vegetables. The imported beef and farm-raised seafood, along with locally sourced frog, undergo a special marinade crafted by BBQ Garden at least 2 hours before serving.

The enticing grilling ingredients counter
The meat, especially the beef, boasts a vibrant hue, grilling up tender, fragrant, and flavorful without being greasy. Notably, there's no hint of smoke thanks to the use of a Korean grilling system that effectively extracts and eliminates odors.

The meat is grilled over premium charcoal, resulting in minimal dust, odor, and toxins. So go ahead and enjoy your meal with peace of mind, everyone! Oh, and don't forget to try the delicious beef wrapped with enoki mushrooms—it's definitely worth a taste!

The finished product after receiving some help from a very friendly staff member at BBQ Garden
If you're in the mood for a hearty hotpot, you can try the spicy Thai hotpot or the milder Sichuan hotpot. Rest assured, the vegetables used in the hotpot are fresh, clean, and carefully selected, so you won't find any wilted or spoiled leaves—just vibrant, lush greens.

Fresh, clean ingredients, feel confident about the quality
I tried the Sichuan hotpot, its mild herbal flavor made me feel relaxed and... quite hungry. A tip: add some corn to simmer in the pot to enhance the broth's sweetness!

The restaurant also offers complimentary dishes served tableside, changing daily. On the day I visited, steamed abalone with lemongrass was elegantly presented in a delicate white porcelain bowl. The steam was rich, the flavor delicate, and the abalone tender and sweet—a simple yet sophisticated presentation.

Dessert options include sweet soup, fruit yogurt, fresh fruit, and ice cream. I particularly enjoyed the fruit yogurt; it had a smooth texture, creamy white, not overly sweet nor sour. If you get the chance, be sure to give it a try!
Second Remarkable Discovery: BBQ Garden's décor in my favorite classic style!
BBQ Garden restaurant features two floors arranged buffet-style and 2 VIP rooms (with capacities of 10–12 and 30–40 people) for groups seeking private space and group gatherings. If you reserve a VIP room, simply order your dishes, and the staff will serve them directly to your table.

The ambiance at BBQ Garden is clean and elegant
Overall, the restaurant isn't overly spacious but is neatly arranged, blending modern and retro styles. The tables, chairs, walls, wooden floors, and glass doors are simple yet elegant, creating a sense of refinement, cleanliness, and coziness.

The staff here are very friendly, from the security guard to the receptionist, waitstaff, and managers. Overall, if you're feeling lazy (like me), the staff will assist you with grilling, packaging, fetching food very attentively and considerately, while also making sure to bring a smile to your face.
