The Green Food Expo 2012 with the theme 'For Health and Environment' is being organized for the first time on a large scale at the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts, No. 2 Hoa Lu, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi from 24-28/11/2012.

Through the expo, the organizers aim to promote environmental awareness for the community's benefit and to encourage people to adopt a nutritious diet to safeguard their health. The Green Food Expo 2012 also serves as a platform to showcase and introduce Vietnamese vegetarian culinary culture to visitors.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nha, Head of the Organizing Committee: Reducing meat and fish consumption in diets not only reduces the risk of obesity, diabetes, cancer, etc., but also helps reduce the consumption of grains and natural resources used in animal husbandry, thereby mitigating greenhouse gas effects as recommended by WHO and UNICEF...
The expo also provides an opportunity for businesses to promote health-beneficial green products in the capital city. Integrated with various rich cultural and artistic programs, the Green Food Expo 2012 features numerous distinctive booths such as vegetarian food, nutritional food, functional food, and raw materials for processing green foods. Notably, with the participation of renowned restaurants at vegetarian food booths, visitors will feel like they are attending a grand vegetarian food festival.
During the expo, the organizers also host discussions on topics such as 'Vegetarianism and Health,' 'Joining Hands to Protect the Environment,' and 'The Power of Mindfulness.' There will be 25 booths featuring over 100 vegetarian dishes, including famous dishes such as rice vermicelli with anchovy sauce, Hue-style vermicelli, shu mai, water fern cake, Vietnamese steamed meatballs, dumplings, pizza, spaghetti, and sticky rice cakes...
Bringing clean forest products to this fair, Dr. Ngo Kieu Oanh, representing Dong Que Ba Vi Farm, asserts: The vegetables, milk, and fresh formats that we introduce at the fair are all guaranteed to be absolutely safe. They are made by the hands of farmers, the ethnic minority people themselves.
