On June 18th, the People's Committee of Đồng Nai province, together with the People's Committee of Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu province and the Ministry of Transport, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu expressway.
Initiation of Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu Expressway Construction
The Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu expressway runs parallel to National Highway 51 and will alleviate the traffic congestion on National Highway 51, which is currently overloaded. Phase 1 of the project, with a length of approximately 16 kilometers, begins at the connection point with National Highway 1 (Biên Hòa bypass road, also known as Võ Nguyên Giáp Street) in Phước Tân ward, Biên Hòa City, and ends in Long An commune, Long Thành district.

According to the design, in Phase 1, the expressway will have 4 lanes, 24.75 meters wide. Upon completion, it will be expanded to 6 lanes, 32.25 meters wide, with a design speed of 100 km/h. Phase 1 of the project commenced investment and implementation in 2022, is expected to be substantially completed by 2025, and the entire Biên Hòa – Vũng Tàu expressway project is scheduled to be fully operational by 2026.
