Inputting mathematical formulas with MyEqText is a utility software for inserting math equations into Word. Unfortunately, MyEqText is quite outdated and only supports Word versions 2003 and earlier. In later versions, you cannot use MyEqText to insert mathematical formulas into Word. This software aims for simplicity and lightweightness, making it compatible with any computer.
Enter mathematical equations with MyEqText in Word
While limited to Word 2003 and earlier versions, MyEqText remains a powerful tool for mathematical equation input. For Word 2003 users, refer to this article for MyEqText equation input methods.
Mathematical Equation Input Using MyEqText
- Download MyEqText to your computer from this link.
Step 1: After downloading MyEqText, open the software and start installation with the initial welcome screen.
Step 2: Simply press Next on the next screen, and the system will install MyEqText on your computer for you.
Once MyEqText is installed, just press Finish to complete the process.
Step 3: If you had Word 2003 open previously, you need to restart it. If Word isn't open, launch it as usual. You'll notice an additional toolbar in Word 2003. Now, let's try typing mathematical formulas with MyEqText.
Step 4: First, let's try creating a square root. From the menu bar, select Equation > choose create square root.
The result will be the square root as shown below, the value of a + b is the value we add, and you can freely change this value.
Step 5: Adding another example is creating a fraction, quite common yet challenging without using MyEqText for mathematical typing.
Note to highlight and write fractions in the format numerator
Those are just 2 of many mathematical formulas you can add to Word when using MyEqText. Of course, we can only experience up to this point, and the rest is left to the readers to explore more about MyEqText.
For instance, in the symbolic part, there are numerous things you can type using MyEqText like creating vectors, accents, or any symbol hat.
Or in the sum and product section, we can create double sum, double product, or create intersection or union sums according to your preference. Of course, this is an advanced part that requires more MyEqText skills to accomplish these types of formulas.
Step 6: In case you want to remove MyEqText, don't want to see it anymore, simply click on the Toggle MyEqText section in Word 2003.
Then confirm closing MyEqText and click OK.
Finally, you'll notice that the MyEqText calculation interface has disappeared, to reopen it, simply click on it again.
Above is how to type mathematical formulas using MyEqText. MyEqText software is excellent, but unfortunately, it's only compatible with Word 2003 and earlier versions. For those using higher versions like Word 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007, you can use another software like Mathtype, which makes inserting mathematical formulas much easier and simpler. Especially for those using Mathtype, you'll find countless formulas that you can combine much more easily compared to MyEqText.
