In graphic design, fonts play a crucial role, and the available font libraries may not always meet our creative needs. In this article, let's explore how to add extra fonts to Illustrator and enhance our design possibilities.

Adding fonts to Illustrator is a breeze when you follow the right steps. Below is a simple guide. In this tutorial, I'll be adding the VNI font – a popular and visually appealing Vietnamese font suitable for designing banners and advertisements.

In the image below, you can see my Illustrator document with the VNF font, but without VNI. Let's change that!
Step 1: Close the Illustrator software by clicking the [X] button at the top right corner.

Step 3: After installation, reopen Illustrator and activate the Type tool with the shortcut T. Then, look at the font settings in Properties as shown below to see the newly added fonts. In this article, I installed and used the VNI font.

Step 4: Try writing some content with the new font. If the result meets your expectations, it's a success. In the example below, I successfully wrote Vietnamese with accents using the newly installed VNI font in Illustrator.
