1. Setting Up Google Search
With its intelligent indexing, Google Search boasts a massive user base, making it the most widely used search engine globally.
By default, Internet Explorer on Windows 8 utilizes Bing as its search engine. However, we can integrate Google Search instead.
- Open Internet Explorer, click the downward arrow (1), then select Add (2).
- In this step, we select Google. Additionally, at this stage, we can also add search engines from other companies like Yahoo, Harvix, etc.
- In this step, we select Add to Internet Explorer.
- The Search Provider dialog box appears. We check Make this my default search Provider (1), then select Add (2) to complete the process of integrating Google Search into Internet Explorer.
From now on, we can search through the address bar of Internet Explorer.
2. Integrating Google Chrome Web Browser
By installing Google Chrome and setting it as the default browser, we can access synchronized data from our Google account, such as bookmarks, applications, extensions, etc.
To install Google Chrome, follow these steps. (Note: ensure your computer is connected to the internet)
- Open Internet Explorer, in the address bar, type Google Chrome (1), then press Enter and click on Install Google Chrome (2).
- In this step, select Download Now to proceed.
- In this step, choose Accept and Install to continue.
- In this step, click Run to proceed.
- In this step, select Run to continue.
- In this step, select Next to continue.
- In this step, choose Google Chrome to complete the installation process and run the program.
After installation, the Google Chrome icon will be added to the Taskbar, making it convenient for us to use.
We can select Relaunch Chrome in Windows 8 mode to switch between Desktop mode and Modern mode.
Whenever you open Google Chrome, accompanying services will always be available on the right side of the interface.
3. Integrating Google Mail into Windows 8
The Mail app in Windows 8 allows us to integrate Google Mail and multiple other Mail accounts, making it very useful for managing multiple Mail accounts at once. In this article, we will integrate Google Mail into Win 8.
- Press the “Windows + C” key combination, then select Settings.
- In this step, select Accounts.
- In this step, choose Add an account to add a new mail account.
- In this step, select Google.
- In this step, enter your Google account name in Email address (1), enter your password in Password (2), then select Connect (3). The program will check and add the account to the Mail section of Win 8.
