Regulations by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) define a badminton court as a rectangular playing area bordered by boundary lines. There are two types of badminton courts: singles court, played between two players, and doubles court, played between two pairs of players.
Standard dimensions for singles and doubles badminton courts according to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) are as follows:

- Length of doubles badminton court: 13.4m.

Regulations Regarding Boundary Lines on the Badminton Court
- Boundary lines are marked in white or yellow for easy distinction from the court color, and the thickness of the boundary lines is 4cm.
- The dimensions of the badminton court are measured from the outer edge of one boundary line to the outer edge of the other boundary line.
Regulations Regarding the Net and Net Posts on the Badminton Court
- The net posts are 1.55m high measured from the playing surface. They must be sturdy and stand straight when the net is stretched on them. Net posts and their accessories must not be placed inside the court. The height of the net at the center of the court measured from the top of the net to the playing surface is 1.524m.
- The net posts are placed directly on the doubles sideline regardless of whether it's a singles or doubles match.
- The net must be made of dark-colored soft nylon (mesh) strands, with uniform thickness, and mesh size ranging from 15mm to 20mm.
- The standard dimensions of the net are 760mm in width and 6.1m in length across the court.
- The top of the net is paired with a white strip overlaying double strands of net cord or cable running through the strip. The net strip must overlay the net cord or cable. The net cord or cable must be taut and level with the top of the two large posts.
- Ensure there are no gaps between the net and the two net posts.

Additional Regulations
Regulations regarding the overhead clearance of the badminton court (height of the badminton court) must meet the standard minimum height of 9m and have a surrounding clearance of at least 2m wide without any obstructions.
For two adjacent badminton courts, the minimum distance between them should be 2m, and the surrounding walls are preferably dark-colored. Standard badminton courts for competition must be enclosed to prevent wind from entering.
