Hello Linh Sunshine, your nickname is quite unique. Can you share the reason you chose this name?
- Actually, my nickname doesn't have any profound meaning. Back when I was in school, I really liked the nickname Sunny. However, there were too many people using Linh Sunny, so I chose a more Vietnamese name to avoid duplicates. Linh Sunshine is a spontaneously chosen nickname, but it has become closely associated with me and my current job. Sometimes, even when people call my real name Phương Linh, I don't recognize it anymore.
You've been in the MC Esports profession for a while. What is a point that people might easily misunderstand about this job?
- When it comes to MC Esports, people might envision a beautiful girl, always elegantly dressed, appearing on channels. However, to deliver quality hosting, captivating news, I always have to study and update new knowledge to avoid becoming outdated. It's crucial to grasp information about teams, tactics, and the meta of each version to ensure the professional aspect. Alongside that, there's the need to handle pressure well since sometimes there will be unpleasant comments. Many demands and difficulties that Esports MCs like me have to ensure.
So, what is the biggest challenge for yourself?
- For me, every challenge has a way to overcome. But there's only one issue, which is the health aspect to meet the workload. With the unique game I'm accompanying, Linh's hosting often extends over 12 hours a day, sometimes even up to 20 hours, and these tournaments sometimes run into the night.
So, there are times when health is not guaranteed, and I can't continue hosting. It's genuinely sad and burning inside like a fire. Perhaps those are the most helpless moments for me. I love my current job, and to maintain that love, I'm trying to take care of my health to accompany and contribute to this game.
So if not an MC, what do you think you'd be doing now?
- If not an MC, I would probably work in the field of Marketing Communication in line with my studied industry. Or if possible, I would also like to try business, especially related to fnb (food and beverage services).
- It's not an exaggeration to say that I'm close to many colleagues in the company. Before officially joining 500Bros, I had nearly a year working with the company's esports tournaments. For me, they are not just colleagues but also brothers and sisters with whom I can confide and share even outside of work.
Three aspects of Linh Sunshine that not everyone knows?
- Meticulous: I am someone who, once committed to something, will be very meticulous, careful, and rule-abiding. So, sometimes, I'll spend quite a bit of time on something just to ensure everything is as perfect as possible.
- 'Enthusiastic': It may sound strange, but I am very enthusiastic with my female friends, very caring and nurturing to the girls around me. For example, I'm willing to carry heavy things or open doors for female friends...
- Adventurous: I have a high adventurous spirit, ready to push my limits to try new areas. That's also why Linh likes taking risks and wants to explore her own capabilities. Sometimes, it leads me to new opportunities. Like the time I decided to quit my job at a previous agency to challenge myself in the esports field - a new and unfamiliar area for me.
Who is your favorite name in the Vietnamese gaming scene, and why?
- Since before joining this field, I've really admired Độ Mixi, and he's also the person I love the most. I appreciate his friendly personality and the fun, intimate chat sessions during his streams with the audience.
Share a bit about your love life. How many relationships have you been through?
- I've been through 2 relationships.
So, if you were to rate your dating experience on a scale of 10, where would Linh Sunshine stand?
- Despite having only experienced love twice, my dating life may not be extensive. However, when it comes to understanding and psychology in love, I confidently rate myself 9/10!
What is the opposite gender figure that left a strong impression on you upon first meeting?
- Impressions from the first meeting often involve physical appearance. It's probably a tall, well-built man with a deep and warm voice. I feel they would be warm and able to protect me.
How about the ideal boyfriend model?
- I like a mature and more capable boyfriend than me. For Linh, someone I look up to can create a connection. Besides that, adding a bit of fun, humor, a dash of psychology, and a bit of pampering would be fantastic.
