In One Punch Man chapter 179, we finally learn the name of the secret agent from the Tsukuyomi organization. His name is Apollo, and he's also a super-powered individual.
Below are some fascinating facts about him:
1. Not present in the webcomic version
Those who have read the webcomic will surely notice significant differences compared to the manga, ever since Murata introduced a new character as the Tsukuyomi secret agent.
Apollo is essentially the original character in the manga, not found in ONE's webcomic. The presence of a completely new character also significantly alters the scene of the battle taking place in Psykos' prison compared to the webcomic version.
2. First appears in chapter 175 but his name is revealed only in chapter 179
His real name is later revealed to be Apollo, through a conversation between the undercover spy infiltrating the Blizzard Group with him in chapter 179.
3. Belongs to the Tsukuyomi organization
And from his conversation with Tatsumaki in chapter 176, Tsukuyomi is a mysterious organization consisting of psychic-powered individuals. They have even turned the former No. 2 hero Tatsumaki into an experimental subject in the past. The newly appeared Tsukuyomi himself possesses great power - capable of defeating Psykos with just 1 - 2 simple moves.
What's intriguing is that this seems to be an entirely new, mysterious, and powerful organization that only appears in the One-Punch Man manga, not in the webcomic.
4. Aims to capture Psykos to obtain the 'Third Eye'
Upon hearing the name of this organization, Psykos immediately goes berserk, displaying horrifying rage.
Fortunately, Apollo's attempt ends in a dismal failure due to the intervention of Fubuki and Tatsumaki.
5. Apollo's Manifestation Ability
While their powers may somewhat resemble each other, Apollo has a rather unique technique. He often utilizes two fingers to control his power.
Apollo's psychic power itself is quite potent. He can paralyze Psykos - who has become berserk, rendering her unconscious and limiting Tatsumaki's movements, as the elder sister is distracted by Fubuki's condition.
However, Apollo's power still falls short of Tatsumaki's. He also resorts to cunning tactics to counter the female esper.
In addition to his psychic strength, Apollo's physical endurance is quite remarkable. He can still stand firm despite being relentlessly pressured by Tatsumaki.
6. A Deceptive and Skilled Escapist
He had planned this scheme from the start by planting a spy within the Blizzard Group to inject a drug into Fubuki's body. As a result, Apollo could easily incapacitate Fubuki, distracting Tatsumaki. Seizing that opportunity, he subdued the S-Class hero with his psychic power.
Unfortunately, his efforts were disastrously thwarted by being distracted by Saitama's monster-slaying actions. Subsequently, Tatsumaki turned the tables and apprehended Apollo along with his accomplices.
