This preview enhances 5G support, allowing developers to determine whether the device is on 5G New Radio or Non-Standalone networks. Apps can now utilize additional bandwidth accompanying 5G capabilities.

This build introduces the Variable Refresh Rate feature in apps. With high refresh rate displays becoming more common, apps can decide the default refresh rate. Furthermore, support for camera in emulator and apps' ability to restore normal functionality after reboot are notable. Synchronized IME switching will also provide smoother transition effects when launching the keyboard on the screen.
Google also mentioned they are implementing some improvements regarding privacy. Android 11 Developer Preview 2 is only available as a preview for developers, meaning you have to flash it onto your Pixel device if you're not running the previous build. If you're on DP 1 or 1.1, you'll receive an OTA update. Another preview will be available for developers next month, followed by a beta release in May.
