Mozilla has released Firefox Preview 2.0 - the first major update for the revamped Android browser test version. The company claims it could be twice as fast as previous versions of Firefox.
Firefox Preview 2.0 has just been released, promising to double the speed of the current browser.
- Get Firefox Preview for Android
Firefox Preview was recently launched in June and differs from current Firefox web browsers for Android in several aspects. Not only does it have a user-friendly layout designed for one-handed operation, but it also offers enhanced privacy options based on Mozilla's own browser engine, GeckoView, rather than Blink owned and developed by Google. This is considered:
- Best Web Browsers for Smooth Online Experience
- Discover How to Enable Dark Mode on Google Chrome
- Protect Your Privacy with the Best VPN
The latest release also includes some new features, such as a browser widget for the phone's home screen and the ability to add website shortcuts to the home screen, making it easy for users to access their favorite websites.
You can also send tabs between multiple devices (an option that appeared on desktop browsers back in February) and sign in to your Firefox account with just a touch if you're logged in on another device.
There are also some new privacy features, including the ability to launch private browsing mode from the home screen, which can save time, and the ability to clear all browser data or just clear a specific page.
Last but perhaps most importantly, Firefox Preview will notify you when a video or audio starts playing on a page and provide means for you to pause or continue playing it. This will be a handy tool for controlling pages with auto-playing videos.
True to its name, Firefox Preview is still a work in progress, and Mozilla plans to release the complete official version by the end of this year.
The news of Facebook officially hiding Like counts is causing a stir among social media users. Facebook has officially begun hiding like, react, and view counts for users' posts and ads in Australia. The company will gather feedback from users and decide whether to expand this update to other locations or not.
