Having endured nearly a century, Majestic Saigon Hotel remains a renowned symbol of a glamorous era in the land of old Saigon. To this day, Majestic Saigon Hotel retains its splendid beauty as glorious as ever.
The first owner of Majestic was Hui Bon Hoa – a wealthy Vietnamese-Chinese merchant of the former Saigon – Gia Dinh. His name is also associated with several other famous landmarks in Saigon such as the Fine Arts Museum, Binh Tay Market, Tu Du Hospital, Saigon Emergency Center, Government Guest House, and more.

Majestic Hotel commenced construction in 1925, featuring a total of 3 floors and 44 bedrooms designed by a French architect. By 1948, Majestic was handed over to the Department of Tourism and Exhibition of Indochina, led by Mr. Franchini Mathieu.
Following the signing of the Geneva Accords in 1954, the International Control Commission for the ceasefire in Vietnam established its office at Majestic Saigon Hotel. Within a year, large-scale protests converged on Majestic to oppose the Commission. Both the Commission Office and Majestic Hotel suffered severe damages.

In 1965, the government of the Republic of Vietnam transferred Majestic Hotel to the Department of Tourism and the General Department of Tourism Development. Additionally, 2 more floors were constructed, and the hotel was renamed Hoan My Hotel.
After the country's reunification, the hotel once again changed its name to Cuu Long Hotel. However, its trading name remained Majestic. Majestic Hotel proudly achieved 4-star status for the first time in 1997 and 5-star status in 2007, recognized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

In 2003, Majestic Saigon underwent further upgrades, expanding to 8 floors and extending towards Ton Duc Thang Street. By 2011, Saigon Tourist Company had invested 1.9 billion USD to construct and develop Majestic Hotel.
Throughout its operation to date, the hotel has hosted numerous important figures such as French President Mitterrand, Japanese Crown Prince Akishino, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and more.
