KTM has recently launched the 2023 version of the RC 8C, but only 200 units are being produced (compared to 100 units for the 2021 version).Externally, the 2023 RC 8C remains largely unchanged from its 2021 counterpart. The 2021 orange paint has been replaced with glossy black for 2023, but the carbon fiber, GRP, and Kevlar bodywork, mimicking the design of KTM's RC16 MotoGP machine, remains unchanged. Similarly, the trellis steel frame also sees no changes. This frame is manufactured by Kramer Motorcycles, a company founded by former KTM engineers. Kramer introduced their own track-focused bike a few years ago, named the GP2 890R, using KTM's LC8c parallel-twin engine and using this bike as a basis for the RC 8C.
The upgrades in the 2023 version are primarily focused on the engine. While the 2021 model produced a peak power of 128 horsepower from the 889cc engine, this figure on the 2023 version is 135 horsepower. Changes include new titanium intake and exhaust valves, a larger throttle body (48mm), increased compression ratio, and fine-tuned combustion chambers. Additionally, there are other modifications aimed at boosting engine performance. Other updates include a new Akrapovic exhaust system, contributing to the bike's dry weight of just 142 kg. The WP Apex Pro suspension system has been softened compared to the 2021 version, enhancing rider confidence and comfort.
For those interested in purchasing, you can visit this link to keep an eye out. KTM will start selling the RC 8C 2023 at 20:00 (Vietnam time) on October 27th. The 2021 version's 100 units sold out in just 4 minutes and 32 seconds, and it's almost certain that the 2023 version will do the same despite the doubled quantity. The selling price is $39,599 USD, a $600 increase from the previous model. Additionally, the first 30 customers to purchase the RC 8C will have the opportunity to participate in a track day at the Valencia circuit on April 26, 2023. On this day, owners will receive their bikes and hit the track immediately under the guidance of GP riders, with support from KTM and WP technicians for bike set-up; at the end of the track day, there will be a celebratory gathering. Afterwards, the bikes will be packed and shipped to the desired location.Additional images:
