(Homeland) - The mobile game project Avatar has long been in development and appears to be nearing the hands of gamers in the near future.
In early 2022, Archosaur Games, Tencent, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Disney announced the Avatar mobile game project. This game, named Avatar: Reckoning, is a multiplayer online role-playing shooter. Avatar: Reckoning will be primarily developed by Archosaur Games – the creators of the once-famous Dragon Raja.
Avatar: Reckoning transports players to previously unexplored lands of Pandora. Avatar: Reckoning is currently in a limited trial phase and will soon undergo Closed Beta testing. However, all information regarding this game is still considered confidential at this time.
It appears that Archosaur Games is merely the developer. As for publishing, Avatar: Reckoning will be handled by Level Infinite – Tencent's international game publishing unit. It's highly likely that Tencent, along with Disney, is one of the major investors in this project.
Once a famous cinematic blockbuster, Avatar has yet to truly have a game of its own on the mobile platform. Currently, there is still no additional information about the release date of Avatar: Reckoning. However, with the pace of game development from the aforementioned reputable entities, there's a high probability that Avatar: Reckoning will be released in 2023.
The trend of mobile game development and release over the past few years showcases the capabilities of game developers. They must quickly seize market opportunities and carve out their own share. A slew of blockbuster projects have been miraculously developed for this reason, especially online games. That's why we can expect Avatar: Reckoning to soon be in the hands of gamers.
As for the gameplay of Avatar: Reckoning, players will embark on the journey of a character they create themselves. Level up, equip powerful weapons, and undertake a series of missions from the main storyline to multiplayer modes (PvP). Built on the Unreal Engine 4 platform, Avatar: Reckoning is sure to deliver the most magnificent visuals for mobile gamers in the near future.
