Introducing the Huawei Mate X5 with a Foldable 7.85-inch Display, Triple 50MP Cameras, and a 5,060mAh Battery

Today, the company showcased its latest foldable smartphone. Starting with the front, the Huawei Mate X5 features an OLED LTPO 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2,504 x 1,080 pixels, a 20.9:9 aspect ratio, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, protected by Kunlun glass. Internally, the device has a foldable 7.85-inch OLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2,496 x 2,224 pixels, an 8:7.1 aspect ratio, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Both screens support a refresh rate of 1Hz-120Hz, 10-bit color, P3 color gamut, and a high-frequency blur capability of 1440Hz. For security, it includes an integrated fingerprint scanner in the power button on the side.

Huawei has not revealed the processor details for the Mate X5. The phone is equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. In terms of photography, the device features an 8-megapixel front camera. The rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto camera with a 12-megapixel periscope lens with OIS support. Similar to the Mate 60 series, the device runs on the Harmony OS 4.0 operating system.

The Huawei Mate X5 features a 5,060mAh battery supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Other features include dual SIM, NM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, 2D face unlock, USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1), two-way satellite connectivity, and an IPX8 water-resistant rating. The device measures 156.9 x 72.4 x 11.08 mm when folded and 156.9 x 141.5 x 5.3 mm when unfolded, weighing approximately 245 grams.

Huawei's latest flagship foldable display model offers users two configuration options: 12GB RAM + 512GB ROM and 16GB RAM + 512GB ROM. It comes in colors such as Feather Black, Feather White, Feather Gold, Green Mountain Dai, and Phantom Purple. The purple and green variants feature a smooth leather back, while other color options have a glass back.
