2019 was predicted to be the year of explosive growth for flexible screen smartphone designs, and manufacturers worldwide have not disappointed consumers, continuously unveiling products with the ability to bend touch screens.
So, which foldable smartphones have been launched from early 2019 until now?
1. Samsung's Foldable Smartphone: Galaxy Fold 5G

Samsung's foldable smartphone has always garnered more attention as the South Korean manufacturer leads in developing new phone technologies.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G boasts a large 7.3-inch display, dubbed the Infinity Flex Display by Samsung, utilizing foldable screen technology for versatility. This allows the Galaxy Fold to seamlessly transition from a tablet-sized device to a conventional smartphone. The secondary screen on the exterior measures 4.6 inches with a resolution of 840 x 1,960 pixels, utilized when the main screen is folded.
Despite launching alongside the Galaxy S10 lineup, including the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10 5G, Samsung has yet to provide users with hands-on experience like the other smartphones. The official release date for this product remains unclear.
2. Huawei's Flexible Display Smartphone: Mate X

The Mate X is Huawei's response, arriving just a day after Samsung introduced the first foldable smartphone. The device features an 8-inch nearly square display (with an aspect ratio of 8:7.1) when fully unfolded, with a grip design on the back reminiscent of the Kindle Oasis e-reader.
When folded, the Huawei Mate X becomes as compact as a smartphone with a 6.6-inch display on the front and a 6.38-inch display on the back. The hinge portion houses a cluster of three camera lenses, antennas, and various other electronic components. The dual-cell battery with a total capacity of 4,500 mAh is placed on both sides of the screen, supporting 55W fast charging technology, allowing for an 85% charge in just 30 minutes.
3. Foldable Screen Phones by Oppo and TCL

Unlike the two major manufacturers, companies like Oppo and TCL have also unveiled prototypes of their foldable smartphones, but they have simultaneously announced that these flagship products are not yet commercially available, and there are no detailed plans for their official release in the future.

In addition to foldable screen designs, integrating 5G antennas is considered a new trend in smartphones released in 2019.
