Introducing the Moto Razr 2022: Featuring a 6.7' 144Hz display, upgraded dual cameras, and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset.
Following Samsung's unveiling of the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 last night in Vietnam time, Lenovo's Motorola brand also announces the commencement of sales for the 2022 Razr configuration in the Chinese market starting today, August 11th. The starting price is set at 5,999 Yuan, equivalent to around 888 USD for the standard configuration with 8GB RAM/256GB ROM.It's plausible to predict that in international markets, the device will maintain a price of 899 USD, similar to the Razr 2020. Motorola Mobility, the brand's custodian, believes this to be a reasonable price for foldable smartphones.Weighing 200 grams and measuring 7.62mm thick when unfolded, the Razr 2022 boasts an upgraded Star Trail hinge of the 3rd generation, ensuring smoother folding without pronounced creases.
Compared to the 2022 configuration, this year's Moto Razr sees the most significant change in its display, which has been increased from 6.2' to 6.7'. Featuring FHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate (not 120Hz), and a larger external display measuring 2.7', the device surpasses the Z Flip4's 1.9' auxiliary display. Additionally, the inner foldable screen introduces a new feature to compete with Samsung's foldable phones: Flex View. This allows the device to fold at a square angle, enabling each half of the screen to display different applications.Next up is the integration of a more contemporary hardware setup worthy of a flagship product. Inside, it houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, with options for either 8GB RAM/256GB storage or 12GB RAM/512GB storage configurations. Powering the entire system is a 3500mAh battery. The camera system receives a significant upgrade in the Moto Razr 2022: featuring a 50MP primary sensor alongside a 13MP ultra-wide lens, departing from the single 48MP sensor setup of its predecessor. This move positions Motorola to compete directly with its rival, the Galaxy Z Flip4. Meanwhile, the hole-punch selfie camera boasts a 32MP resolution.According to Cnet
