Introducing the OneXPlayer Mini: A formidable contender against the Steam Deck, priced at $999.
Buzz
With the emergence of the Steam Deck, the handheld PC hardware market has heated up like never before. Previously, gamers only had expensive solutions such as the GPD Win, launched in 2016, or more recently, the Aya NEO equipped with an AMD Ryzen APU.Despite its highly competitive pricing compared to handheld PC solutions from China, Valve is currently struggling to meet market demand due to chip and component shortages. This has led many companies to develop products to seize market share that the Steam Deck has yet to fulfill due to supply shortages.
Introducing the latest addition, OneXPlayer Mini, now available for pre-order. Equipped with the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 5800U APU, boasting 8 cores and 16 threads running at a clock speed of 4.4 GHz, alongside an 8-core Radeon Vega 8 GPU. The default RAM configuration offers 16GB LPDDR4X clocked at 4266 MHz.In addition to the robust AMD processor (a departure from Intel CPUs used in previous OneXPlayer models), the OneXPlayer Mini offers a 7-inch display with Full HD or 720p resolution options, and storage choices ranging from 500GB to 2TB NVMe, omitting the slower eMMC option found in the Steam Deck. Connectivity features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5, and two USB4 ports. With this configuration, the OneXPlayer Mini resembles a shrunken laptop more than a handheld PC, reminiscent of the Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. The only factor potentially impacting the competitiveness of the OneXPlayer Mini is its price point. Corresponding to its specifications, the 512GB SSD variant starts at $999 USD, while the 2TB SSD model is priced at $1,369 USD, comparable to mid-range laptops currently on the market. The OneXPlayer Mini is set to be officially released to pre-order customers starting April 20th, with only 8 hours remaining at the time of writing to place orders on the OneXPlayer website for this handheld PC.Theo SlashGear
