After much anticipation, last night, according to Vietnam time, Apple officially unveiled the next iOS 12 update at WWDC 2018 event with a slew of powerful enhancements and additions both in terms of performance and internal features for its mobile devices.

iOS 12 supports all devices released from 2013 to now, making it the oldest iOS version to support many older devices ever, including the iPhone 5s.
iOS optimizes performance by up to 40%
iOS 12 is one of Apple's heavily invested iOS versions to optimize performance to the best level. Therefore, this version will have app opening speeds 40% faster than the previous iOS version. Apps run 40% faster, keyboards appear and respond 50% faster, and camera apps open 30% faster.

Apple has also found a more efficient way to optimize device performance with iOS 12 by automatically increasing CPU speed when needed and reducing it immediately after successful app launch, helping the device save energy while still ensuring the most powerful performance. This feature will be available on both iPhone and iPad product lines.
Easier multiplayer AR gaming
Regarding AR, this is a feature that Apple mentioned a lot during the iOS 12 launch event. Apple has partnered with Pixar to introduce a new file type for AR-enabled apps called USDZ. This new app allows users to easily share AR content with each other.

Furthermore, the USDZ file standard is officially supported by Adobe alongside the Creative suite. This promises to usher in a new era for AR in the future. Moreover, Apple has also officially upgraded the old AR version to AR 2.0, allowing multiple players with iPhone 11 64GB to interact and engage in combat games right in the real space, which is very exciting and appealing.
Photos app gets many new features added
Thanks to artificial intelligence support, the default Photos app is now much smarter than previous iOS 12 versions.

On the search bar: Now you can search for more people, more scenes, and more keywords.
Siri Learns User Habits
In iOS 12, Siri has added additional shortcuts beyond the home screen to provide necessary suggestions based on available information on the user's iOS device. For example, if you enter a movie theater, Siri will remind you to silence your phone to avoid disturbing others or suggest calling to wish your friends a happy birthday on their birthday.

If these actions are repeated many times, Siri will understand and build it into a habit to help users more in their everyday lives.
The Distance Measuring App Measure from Artificial Intelligence
Measure is an app for measuring distances and object dimensions. There have been many apps on the App Store capable of this for a long time. However, now Apple has integrated it directly into iOS without the need for additional installation.

The 'Anti-Smartphone Addiction' Feature -
Apple has integrated the Screen Time app to provide an overview of everything you've done on your phone, helping you save time when switching between data sources.

With Screen Time, you can set time limits or specific times to receive notifications, such as on Instagram. Clearly, Screen Time is also great for helping parents better control their children, such as monitoring their app usage and limiting it accordingly.
A Variety of New Animoji Icons
With iOS 12, Apple has added a variety of new Animoji icons such as: ghost, koala bear, a tiger, and T-rex to create your own 3D animated images.

Essentially, Apple is mimicking Snapchat's Bitmoji kit, allowing you to create avatars, add accessories, and customize clothing to your liking.

Group FaceTime Up to 32 People
Apple has introduced many new features to FaceTime on iOS 12, including the ability to create a FaceTime group of up to 32 people.

Or seamlessly switch an iMessage conversation to a live video chat without opening another app. Additionally, this chat feature will be integrated into MacOS and Apple Watch for the audio part.
