As usual, there's a slew of changes in the updates, and here's the list of changes in iOS 14.2:

- Battery charging optimization for AirPods to slow down battery aging by reducing the time AirPods need to fully charge.
- Headphone audio level notifications to alert you when the sound level could impact your hearing.
- New AirPlay controls to stream entertainment content throughout your home.
- Intercom support with HomePod and HomePod mini using iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and CarPlay.
- Ability to connect HomePod to Apple TV 4K for stereo sound, surround sound, and Dolby Atmos audio.
- Option to provide anonymized Exposure Notifications statistics participation from Public Health Authorities.
Changes on iPadOS 14.2 are similarly structured, differing only in a few details including:
- Magnifier can detect nearby individuals and report their distance using the LiDAR sensor found in iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation) and iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation).
- Camera's Scene Detection mode utilizes intelligent image recognition to identify subjects in a scene and automatically enhance photos on iPad Air (4th generation).
- Auto FPS feature in the camera automatically adjusts frame rate when recording video to improve low-light shooting capabilities and optimize file size on iPad Air (4th generation).
These updates are available for all devices supported by iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. And don't forget about the minor watchOS and tvOS updates as well.
