With iOS 14.5 Beta, you can fully utilize Siri to play music on Spotify as the default app. Not only that, it encompasses other music apps like Deezer, Pandora, Tidal, YouTube Music, stepping beyond the boundaries of Apple Music.
=> Ideal for those who aren't subscribed to Apple Music.Why opt for Siri? Currently, setting those mentioned music apps as the default on your iPhone/iPad in the Settings section isn't possible. (Similar to setting a default browser or mail app).
At this point, Siri will prompt you to choose which music app to use for that track (the apps currently installed on your iPhone).After selecting an app, like Spotify for example, Siri will request your permission to access data from Spotify - just hit Yes, and from then on, when you ask Siri to play music on your iPhone, Siri will default to playing from Spotify.If you want to switch default music apps when requesting Siri, simply say 'Specify (App Name)'. For instance: 'Hey Siri, specify Apple Music'.I've noticed that since it's still in beta, the Siri feature to choose default music apps might not be entirely stable yet.
