This malicious code is related to a Javascript function IndexedDB, which stores information about the URLs users have visited and their Google login information.

You need to update to the latest iOS immediately, even if you use Chrome, to fix this dangerous vulnerability. Otherwise, you risk exposing personal information and losing money because Chrome on iOS 15.2 is still affected. If you use a Mac, you'll need to upgrade to macOS 12.2, which fixes Safari bugs similarly. So, if you're wondering whether to update to iOS 15.3 or not, the answer is definitely 'yes'.

2. IOMobileFrameBuffer Bug Fix

iOS 15.3 also fixes a memory-related bug that could allow malicious apps to execute arbitrary code with admin privileges. This security flaw enables hackers to easily steal your information as they have admin rights to access the system.

Apple says this bug may have been exploited widely, meaning many hackers have discovered and used it, potentially affecting some iOS users.

3. Fixing HomeKit Camera Thumbnails Issue:

iOS 15.3 addresses the problem where HomeKit Camera thumbnails couldn't refresh for some users in the Home app.

Thumbnails of HomeKit Secure Video cameras added to the Home app provide a way to review recent footage, and typically, these thumbnails will refresh automatically at regular intervals. In recent weeks, some users have been unable to refresh the thumbnails, but it seems Apple has fixed this issue in iOS 15.3.

4. Various Improvements and Minor Bug Fixes

iOS 15.3 update also addresses some other vulnerabilities with ColorSync, Crash Reporter, iCloud, and Kernel, but none of these are known to have been exploited extensively by hackers.

When a patched vulnerability is widely exploited by hackers, Apple notifies users, but that's not the case with these issues. The only widely exploited vulnerability known is the IOMobileFrameBuffer bug mentioned above.

The iOS 15.3 update released will address some lingering issues on the old version, preventing users from being affected by regrettable incidents if attacked by security vulnerabilities that could expose their personal information for malicious purposes.

So if you're using iOS 15, in my opinion, you should update to iOS 15.3 immediately to have the best user experience. Because this is an upgrade to fix minor bugs, all devices on iOS 15.2 will be upgraded to iOS 15.3.
