Similar to all Apple software updates, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 are available for free download. iOS 17 is compatible with iPhone XR and later models, while iPadOS 17 runs on iPad 5 and later, iPad 6 and later, iPad mini 3 and later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch second generation and later, all models of iPad Pro 11-inch, and iPad Pro 10.5-inch.
iOS 17 brings a plethora of new features for users.iOS 17 is a significant update, introducing numerous enhancements and new features. Firstly, it introduces interactive widgets and StandBy mode, turning the iPhone into a digital clock while charging. Users can now view real-time call history and leave video messages in FaceTime. Additionally, FaceTime now operates on Apple TV with tvOS 17.
With NameDrop, exchanging contacts is as simple as tapping devices together, and Message has been enhanced with new safety features and updates to sticker functionality. Apple has also improved auto-correct functionality on iOS 17 and enhanced Spotlight search. Browsing privately in Safari is now safer with Face ID lock, and users can now track their mood in the Health app.
iOS 17 also facilitates Password Sharing in iCloud Keychain, and AirTags can now be shared among family members. Additionally, there are new features for AirPods Pro. Apple has also introduced updates for Siri, Mail, Reminders, Notes, Home, and more.
Currently, users can download the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 updates on all compatible iPhones and iPads via OTA by navigating to
Settings > General > Software Update.
