iOS 17 introduces the ability to share AirTags with others

iOS 17 brings one of the most anticipated features for AirTag users, allowing the sharing of this accessory with others.

Since its launch, AirTags could only be owned and used by a single person, but that will change in the ‌iOS 17‌ update.

In the Find My app, you can select an AirTag and choose the 'Share This AirTag' option to invite one of your contacts. The invitee will be able to see the location of your AirTag, which is useful if you're lending an item with an AirTag attached to friends or family, eliminating the tracking alerts that can be bothersome.

When sharing a car with family but wanting to leave an AirTag for tracking, the new feature won't trigger annoying alerts when your family member is driving. You can invite anyone to view the AirTag and also remove that person anytime.

Notably, this sharing feature also extends to items supported by Find My, so it won't be limited to ‌AirTags‌.
