After nearly 10 trials from iOS 14.2 beta 1, beta 2, and yesterday's GM, I can briefly inform you that with the new iOS, iPhone 12 will charge faster with MagSafe. Previously, in 30 minutes, it only reached about 15%, but now the figure is around 26%.This can be observed because previously, when I used iOS 14.1, the power input before and after the operating system ran (when the battery was completely depleted and the OS shut down, at around 2% the OS would automatically turn back on) was almost the same, both under 10W (charger power consumption). However, when updating to iOS 14.2, the current after the OS starts up can change up to a maximum of 20W.After numerous trials, I've also noticed that charging overnight typically results in lower current compared to daytime charging. It's unrelated to temperature since my environment doesn't vary much in terms of temperature. I speculate there's OS intervention throughout the day.I'll continue experimenting and keep you all informed.
Currently, I'm testing charging with and without a leather skin cover, and there's no difference in results. Next, I'll experiment with wireless charging through various thicknesses of different phone cases.
