As per the latest information from GSMArena, it has now secured two Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) announced at MWC 2023.
Specifically, Apple's mobile device clinched the 'Best Smartphone' award by outperforming the Google Pixel 7 Pro, Nothing Phone (1), Z Flip4, and Galaxy Z Fold4. The tech giant headquartered in Cupertino also earned another accolade for 'Innovative Breakthrough Device' due to the breakthrough satellite emergency SOS feature across the Pro models.
This feature enables device users to send emergency messages in remote areas without mobile coverage, without requiring any special hardware. In the breakthrough device innovation category, Google's Tensor 2 chip, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and Sony's IMX989 camera sensor were also among the voting list.
GSMA stated,
The award for Best Smartphone, blending outstanding performance, innovation, and leadership, was determined through smartphone evaluations in the market from January to December 2022, by top analysts, journalists, and influential individuals worldwide.”.
To recall, the iPhone 14 Pro features an OLED Super Retina XDR LTPO display with ProMotion support, AOD, and up to 2,000 nits of brightness. This phone adopts a pill-shaped punch-hole design called Dynamic Island, housing a 48MP main camera with sensor-shift image stabilization technology, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP telephoto camera, and a LiDAR sensor.
